God created us in His image, breathing the breath of His spirit (ruach) into us so that we can also have our own unique spirit, the essence of who we are, and everything that goes along with it: emotions, personality, thoughts, character traits, etc.
The problem is once our spirit’s become corrupted by sin, the rest of our lives starts to show the results of that corruption, becoming cracked or utterly destroyed. The only way to regain wholeness is through a life with Jesus, allowing Him to transform and heal us.
In the last episode, I talked about how our emotions rule us if we don’t surrender them to God, demonstrating the unhealthiness and brokenness of our spiritual lives and how we need to learn how to let Him teach us how to regain control of them.
RELATIONAL BROKENNESS
Spiritual and emotional brokenness causes chaos within our lives, showing up in other areas of our lives as well. Our emotional brokenness and the corruption of our spirit caused by sin is dramatically shown in how we interact with other people in our lives and God, Himself.
This is why understanding relational health is crucial in learning how to THRIVE, the way God designed us to. When our relationships our are cracked or broken, we cannot be the people He has created us to be. We will never THRIVE spiritually or emotionally if our relationships with God and/or others don’t THRIVE as well.
