He believes fitness should be fun, inclusive, challenging, and inspirational. Growing up an overweight, gay, black boy in West Baltimore wasn’t easy for Gerard Burley, but it emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion across gender, age, ability, sexual orientation and race in what would become his fitness journey.
Gerard Burley, better known as “Coach G” has over 15 years experience in the exercise sports science field including a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and a Masters of Science in Exercise and Health Promotion from Cal U Pennsylvania. He also holds various high level certifications such as Strength and Conditioning Specialist, NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist, Specialist in Speed and Explosion, and an Advanced Exercise Nutrition Certificate from Human Kinetics.
After holding a corporate position as Director of Sports Medicine at Bowie State University, Coach G decided to follow his dreams of living abroad, and changing lives. In 2009 he moved to Rome, Italy and while playing pro basketball started training foreign service workers inside the US Embassy. After Italy, Gerard decided to return back to Washington, DC, and continue his calling of helping people change their lives through healthy living, positive thinking, and fitness.
After a series of pop-up fitness parties and demos, Burley opened Sweat DC in September 2017, an inclusive space for people of all body types and levels of experience.
Gerard Burley has been featured on CNN, Fox News, ABC News & the Washington Post just to name a few. And wouldn’t you know it, he also low key teaches at SoulCycle. I AM SO GRATEFUL to have this incredible inspiring human share his story with us!

She is Hoda Kotb’s personal fitness inspiration you may have seen her on the today show, or read about her 50th birthday party on page six, or heard her on Sirius XM, but Sue Molnar is best known for her fiercely devoted tribe at SoulCycle.
A Senior Master Instructor, currently teaching in studio & digitally on the equinox + app, Sue is known for her passion for music, and transformative rides that will leave you both sweaty and deep in your feelings.
A competitive cheerleader in college, a former Stewardess for United Airlines, a step aerobics instructor, she was reluctant to join SoulCycle after a friend told Julie Rice & Elizabeth Cutler to take her class in LA. Sue ended up taking the chance, and now we couldn’t imagine life without the legendary July 4th Bruce Springsteen rides in the Hamptons.
Sue calls herself the anti-instructor at Soul and inspires riders to hold on to the good crazy and let go of the bad crazy. Her grit and personal struggle with cancer, has inspired so many who cross her path and today I hope after chatting with her you too will be inspired to pursue your true calling despite what life throws at you.
Get READY MOFO’s because it is an honor to welcome a true legend to Creating The 4% Podcast , SUE MOLNAR!!

Amanda Brabec is a fitness instructor & personal trainer based in Boston whose mission is to make fitness FUN & approachable for everyone. Almost five years ago, she took a leap of faith, did a local fitness instructor certification & instantly fell in love with the connection & empowerment created in a group fitness setting.
Shortly after, she left her corporate marketing & event planning career to pursue fitness full time. After a few years, she noticed just how fat-phobic & diet-centric the industry still can be, and how damaging those messages can be to clients so she is launching a group body image workshop this January.
She is the host of the Build with Brabec podcast, a cycling instructor at The HandleBar, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist, and offers virtual workouts on Youtube & her own platform.
