Self Care is kind of a buzz word and I usually tune out when I hear it. So you're probably wondering why I'm using it here? Well, it's because I'm hoping to give you some validation in whatever you're doing for self care and also give you some ideas you can add into your life if you'd like to. I subscribe to the 80/20 strategy so this episode isn't for you to beat yourself up for not being perfect at self care. I'm going to bet that you do have some self care activities in place already. When I'm trying to add something into my routine or make something part of a pattern for me I usually only get to it once or twice a week at first and that's ok if that happens to you too, just trying. In this episode you'll hear me talk about the natural tendency to evaluate and set goals as the season changes and going into Spring is a natural time to look at your self care routine and make changes if it feels right. I didn't go out with the desire to have a style transformation or become a personal stylist. My desire has always been to contribute to my family financially, but still be available for them, and to also do something to serve others. My job as a hairstylist is my dream job. I've loved everyday being a hairstylist, but from the beginning I've had some problems with my shoulders and I knew my body wouldn't last behind the chair forever. The past 10 years have been a journey of self awareness, personal development, and growth along with a lot of challenges. My transformation started when I took a personality assessment. It pointed out some strengths of mine that I couldn't deny and it also nailed some of weaknesses too! That experience blew my mind open. The Oxford language dictionary says that a transformation is a dramatic change in form or appearance. I would say that's correct for what has happened for me over the past 10 years. Friendships are really important. I truly believe that the friends my kids have had in high school have shaped who they are now and I'm so grateful they've had good friends. As an adult, my friendships have been a huge support to me. I have leaned on my friends a lot during my life. As a business owner I'm finding that my friendships have also helped me make more money and a bigger impact in the world but the most amazing thing about good friendships is how it's helped increase my self confidence.
In today's episode I want to talk to you about the groups of friends we're in and how they are impacting our lives. I've recently stretched myself to be in bigger groups so I can meet more people. I am a people person but it has still been hard for me to put myself in these groups. The self doubt is real, always, and I'm learning that it's more of an indicator to go all in than to pull away.

Your surroundings consists of lots of things. It can be the room you're currently in, your home, your car, your office etc and also the people you surround yourself with. If we want to grow and mature and become a better person we need to know ourselves better. The better we know ourselves the better we can know others.
One of the strategies I use to teach my clients to get to know themselves is to look at the environments they are in. Is that environment tidy, clean, and organized? Or is it cluttered, messy, and unkept? Your surroundings reflect your self image. If your desk is messy and cluttered, your brain is likely cluttered and distracted. Taking a look at your spaces and asking yourself how this space is a reflection of your thoughts about you is pretty powerful.
On today's episode I'm taking you into my own surroundings and telling you exactly HOW these spaces reflect my thoughts about myself. My hope is that by hearing me do this exercise myself it will give you permission to do it for yourself. Tune in and go behind the scenes with me as I take you inside my own self image.
