Many photographers refer to themselves as a creative director. That could be dangerous to their career, reputation, and their professional development. In this podcast episode I'll discuss how you can start your track to becoming a creative director and why it's dangerous...yes dangerous... to call yourself a creative director so soon!

Dear photographers, videographers and really all types of creatives: I urge you to say NO more often. It seems almost counter-productive to draw boundaries but it works like a charm! When you hear this episode, take a moment to reflect on how you maneuver through this world. Are you saying NO enough? Is the answer to that NO? :)

I learned that my photography channels that help others are predominantly male! Now that's not the problem because I am not sure anything could be an even split 50/50. However, having less women holding a camera has some longterm damage for all of us. In this podcast, I speak on what I mean by "shooting like a girl" and why we need more female photographers.

Photographers and all creative professionals, this is an important episode for your money affairs. There are things you can do to maximize your income and this podcast episodes cover that. For example, did you know that charging a production fee actually give your business a boost that will change the path forever? Collecting a production fee changes how clients perceive you, how they pay you, and how you are placed in the marketing world.
Did you know that the first value is set by the creator and the retaining value is set by the market place? We go into detail about this and it's a way of changing how you move forward and start the conversation about your services. Finally, I want creatives to think with the client's wallet and not theirs. That does not mean you take advantage of anyone, ever. It means your budget may be different than that of someone hiring you. By recognizing that, you're allowing them to value your work and pay what THEY think is the value. Listen to the podcast and you'll see what I mean!

Photographers (and all artists) sometimes the small changes within a business can provide massive rewards for your business. I gave Chaz a much-needed coaching session for his business. His business is already successful but we're making changes along the way to ensure that he keeps growing without exhausting himself. But his biggest frustration is finding clients who actually want to pay his full rates. Isn't that something we can all get behind!?
Listen in to my conversation about Chaz's photography business and see how you can help your own, with the notes I give Chaz.
