Creative Perspectives Podcast

In this short but fun and insightful episode, I chat with Linzi Morgan, creator of Welcombe Radio's Saturday morning Art show (which I host once a month, and this episode is taken from)

We talk about the joy of radio and podcasts, some of the creative blockages that we experience, fear of creative failure, how to approach and "turn" to you creative work and the joy of the creative process.

This was a spontaneous and unplanned radio chat, but I would love to get Linzi on again sometime as a "proper" Podcast guest.

This is what I did, and why it worked for me.  Might not be for everyone.

This one possibly creates more questions than it answers, but that's kind of the point of these i.e. lets get us thinking about right is right for us!!

Another short one, taken from the series of advice points I gave to a young artist just starting out.

A simple episode where I talk about the necessity of being able to talk about money and marketing, as a full or part time artist.

Like all things, with practice it becomes much easier and less "icky".  Not only that, I have found that marketing can be fun, creative and very rewarding!!...and is never quite the complex minefield of possibilities it may first seem.

This is more of an art business episode, but equally important to those looking to go full time as it is to those looking part time or a side hustle.

In this episode I go a little deeper into the simple, but highly effective idea of acting more professionally, and valuing yourself and your time.

This might be a totally obvious "no brainer" to many but I hope there's some useful tips in here and an insight into the fact I am not naturally organised or professional (ha!)...I've had to, and still do have to, work at it...but it's worth it.

Another simple shift, but for those starting out this can be a small change with immediate and large results!!

With nearly 40 years as a professional artist, Peter gives an open and honest view into his life.

• We go through the ups and downs of this reality.
• How he has carved out a career, and the way he has had to "remake' himself at various points along the way.
• His painting processes and the constant push for something more than has created previously.
• The challenges and joys of painting.
• Dealing with self doubt, fears and our own excuses as blockages to creating.
• The power of confidence, believe and passion in art.

A fascinating insight with hits of useful information and inspiration at every turn!

Welcombe Radio

In this show I chat with local Warwickshire Artist & Tutor, Nick Logan.

We discuss the importance of life drawing or just simply learning to observe and create from life.  Why it's important and also how fun and creative it is!!

We talk about oil painting, again, how simple a medium it can be, some of the Pitfalls and also Nick's top 3 pieces of advice for oil painting.

One of the central themes that runs throughout the show is the nature of learning. Nick gives great insight into the processes of learning and some genuinely uplifting and thought provoking ideas on the subject of learning to draw and paint...and ultimately how we should be focusing on enjoying our learning journey, less on the end result!

Another inspiring and interesting artist gives a glimpse into their mind.

This is more of an art business episode, but equally important to those looking to go full time as it is to those looking part time or a side hustle. Useful across all disciplines I would say...a simple but powerful tool!

A simple shift in the language you use with yourself, and others, can have an immediate and positive affect on your mindset and your desired results for your business, and art.

One of the shorter episodes in which I discuss some of the basic tips & advice I have offered in the past. I just take a moment to go a little deeper.

• Change your language
• Change you mindset
• Change your Outcome

It's such a simple shift, and hey, many of you might do this all ready, but for those starting out this can be a small change with immediate and large results!!
