Here is the homily I gave for the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time. This is the third in the series, "I Chose You." Being a Christian is about having a relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the One Who chose you and we need to start acting, living, and praying like those who are chosen.

Apparently the discussion regarding applause at Mass is a sensitive topic. There are many who say that they respect my opinion on this matter, which is not the point. The question on hand is what is the essence of the Mass and does applauding a human achievement fulfill that essence?

Here is the homily I gave for the 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time. This is the second in a four part series entitled, "I Chose You." Of all the conversion stories we read in the lives of the saints, St. Paul stands out. Going from someone who persecuted Christians to the one who proclaims Christ as Savior is a powerful witness. Clearly, once he realized he was chosen by God, his life was radically different. Is your life any different than your non-believing neighbor?

Here is the homily I gave for the Solemnity of Pentecost. This is part of a mini-series entitled, "Help My Unbelief." As Christians, we need to be working for Unity in a world plagued by division. The Holy Spirit was given to us in order to heal divisions and forgive sins. We must all do our part to grow in Faith each day.

For many years evangelization was relegated to priests and religious. Generally speaking, the lay faithful we just expected to sit in the pews and be quiet. However, from the beginning of the Church, every member was expected to share the Good News. As a lay person, you should share the Faith with others and invite them to come to Christ in His Church. Most people who return to the practice of the Faith did so through the invitation of a friend or family member. Be that friend of family member in the world today!

Here is the homily I gave for the 7th Sunday of Easter. This homily is the last in the series, "Quo Vadis". We all agree that we want to go to Heaven at the end of our lives, but rarely do we lives as if that were the case. We must always remember the journey is the destiny and the destiny informs the journey. Check to see what path you are on to find out where you will end up at the end of the Journey. And if you are on the wrong path, change now so as to ensure your final destiny is with Christ.

Among my pet peeves are those who presume a deceased loved one is in Heaven. So many wish deceased loved ones "Happy Birthday in Heaven", which indicates they presume the person went straight to Heaven. The result is that so many no longer pray for the deceased.
