Most people are pursuing hopes and dreams which will ultimately disappoint them. But did you know there's a hope that can never disappoint because it's absolutely certain to come to pass? How is it that anyone comes to believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, which the Scripture both affirms and requires that we believe in order to be saved? Did you know that the love of God not only loves, but it hates? After we understand something of the sincerity of God's love, the second key quality of this love is that it hates evil because it is a direct attack on the glory of God. All who have the love of God in them, therefore, must also hate evil as God does. Join us today as we consider the fact of evil, the problem of evil and what the hatred of evil looks like. Today's instruction is foundational to living the Christian life.

This morning we begin a new section in our study on Christian Living. Verses 9-21 are often translated as a list of commands but, in point of fact, most of these "commands" are just descriptions of the love of God! The foundation for all Christian living starts with an understanding that the love of God is without hypocrisy. Join us today as we consider the anchor truth that God's love is sincere and that all who have God's love in them also love God sincerely and love their brother sincerely.
