This Sunday we begin our month long focus on what it biblically means to live lives of compassion, mercy, and justice.  Join us this week as we explore the connection between the Old Testament exhortation to act justly and Jesus' final words to his original disciples .

In Luke 1:46-55, Mary overflowed with song in response to what God was doing in in, through and around her. We often find ourselves responding in a similar way, especially during the Advent and Christmas seasons.

As we look at Mark 1:1-18, we will humbly learn about what it means to be prepared to receive more of the fullness of what God has for us.

We officially enter the season of Advent by beginning at the end. As we consider Mark 13:32-37, we will discover the bigger picture of the Advent/Christmas season that goes far beyond just the birth narrative of Jesus. Also, we will be reminded how this is a very important discovery that will help to frame not just this season but also our everyday living.

Ten encountered and experienced Jesus' miraculous transformation in their lives, but only one made the intentional choice to respond with worshipful thanksgiving. On this weekend where so many participate in the tradition that we embrace as the Thanksgiving holiday, let's join together on Sunday as we are reminded from Luke 17 how "Thanksgiving" is so much more than an event...its a daily response of worship for anyone who has truly encountered Jesus.

Be attentive to opportunities God provides you to care for people and attend to their needs.

Jesus was well known for his eating habits. People often commented on and inquired about why he would eat with “those” people. He did so with great purpose that was rooted in His ultimate mission. We can follow his example of living into this missional practice of “eating together.” Join us this Sunday as we look at some of these examples from the Gospel accounts and consider how we can increase the missional nature around a basic habit that we take for granted and typically do three times per day.
