Steve Smith :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, August 9, 2020.
Jesus reigns as Lord over all forces physical and spiritual. Steve Smith preaches on the might and mercy of the Messiah from Matthew 8:23-34, where Jesus calms a storm and frees two men possessed by demons. • Matthew: Come Meet the King - More Tests? (Matthew 8:18-22)
Steve Smith :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, August 2, 2020
Scripture lays out a number of tests for would-be followers of Jesus to determine if we are in fact willing to follow. From Matthew 8:18-22, Pastor Steve preaches about two tests of discipleship given to confront our delusion, call us to a decision, and compel our devotion to Jesus Christ. In a way, Christianity is a death sentence: a call to die to ourselves and live for Christ in service to others for God’s glory. Ultimately, nothing else offers eternal rest and satisfaction. Steve's message follows a couple announcements.

  • Evangelism Workshop with Brett Ricley
Creekside hosted Brett Ricley, Associate Pastor at The Mission Church in Urbandale, for an excellent 2 hour workshop on personal evangelism on July 26th, 2020.
Christ's Great Commission is not optional and believers should be motivated, equipped and available to engage others with the Gospel. Brett led an in-person and online Zoom audience through very practical ways to watch for opportunities, listen well, share a testimony, and presenting the Good News to anyone from any background.

  • Matthew: Come Meet the King: Jesus is King—Proof in the Power (Matthew 8:1-17)
Steve Smith :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, July 26, 2020
In this exposition through the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus proved His identity as the true Messiah and King in many ways. As Pastor Steve begins chapter 8, we find three demonstrations of Jesus’ power that confirm His identity as the King of Glory—His authority over disease, paralysis, and sickness both physical and spiritual. The text becomes a challenge for unbelievers to trust Jesus for salvation, and encouragement for believers to seek Him for miracles, show His mercy, and share His message indiscriminately. Steve’s message follows announcements by Alan Crim.

  • White-Knuckled Christianity (Hebrews 10:23)
Micah Tuttle :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, July 19, 2020
Christians are in a spiritual battle with a world that seeks to pry us away from the hope that we have in Christ. Missionary to Peru Micah Tuttle preaches from Hebrews 10:23 and challenges believers into “vice-grip mode”, to “hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” Micah reminds us that if God is faithful, we have nothing to fear in preaching the gospel and keeping a white-knuckled grip on our faith. Micah's message follows announcements by Alan Crim, including some upcoming changes regarding re-opening. Worship music permitted under CCLI License #264436.
