Cory McCartney (@coryjmccartney) of FOX Sports South joined Sam Crenshaw & Greg Clarkson to talk about the start of the MLB season and our Atlanta Braves.
When the Braves came back to camp roughly two weeks ago, four players tested positive for COVID-19. Out of those four players, Freddie Freeman and Touki Toussaint have been cleared to return to practice with the team. After being quarantined and two test coming back negative, Freeman and Toussaint are ready to go.
From everything that is being said by McCartney, Freeman is ready to start opening day. This week, it is being said that he will have thirty at-bats and will be batting third. Toussaint may need a little more time according to McCartney.
With Freeman being ready to start for the Braves’ opener on July 24, 2020 against the Mets, he will tie Andrew Jones with having the most opening day starts as a position player in Atlanta Braves history. What a career!
