Crimes, Conspiracies and Beyond

Infinity is that which is boundless, endless, or larger than any natural number. It is usually denoted by the infinity symbol.

Since the time of the #ancientGreeks the philosophical nature of #infinity was the subject of many discussions among philosophers. In the 17th century, with the introduction of the #infinitysymbol and the #infinitesimalcalculus, #mathematicians began to work with infinite series and what some mathematicians regarded as infinitely small quantities, but infinity continued to be associated with endless processes. As mathematicians struggled with the foundation of #calculus it remained unclear whether infinity could be considered as a number or magnitude and, if so, how this could be done.

What is the Universe? Is it in infinite? We explore that and more.

When a butterfly flutters it's wings, is that enough to change the world? The #butterflyeffect is the idea that small things can have non-linear impacts on a complex system. The concept is imagined with a butterfly flapping its wings and causing a #tornado in Oklahoma. The butterfly effect rests on the notion that the world is deeply #interconnected such that one small occurrence can influence a much larger complex system. In #chaostheory the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic #nonlinearsystem can result in large differences in a later state. While #Fridaythe13th is considered a rare phenomenon, the layout of the #Gregoriancalendar means that the 13th of any month is slightly more likely to fall on a Friday than any other day of the week.

But, it isn't a universal #superstition

In #Greece and most Spanish-speaking countries, it is Tuesday the 13th that is considered unlucky, while in Italy, it is Friday the 17th. What is clear is that both Friday and the number #13 have been regarded as #unlucky in throughout #history
