When something like a situation or condition is critical, judged and analyzed, possibly on the verge of a crisis, it becomes a turning point. It takes the same amount of time and energy to believe God for His plan in a matter as it does to agree with Satan. Any focus on worst-case scenarios take us into that realm, real or not.
