Want to submit your story to Royal Guard?

https://royalguardpublishing.com/submissions/

I'd appreciate it if you told them this Podcast helped you make that decision! :)

------------------------------------------

Authors:

We are seeking 2 types of submissions. Finished manuscripts on Royal Road or unpublished. If you fall into this category, we need a solid pitch of the premise. Explain the who the MC is, what they are doing, and what would make a reader want to journey with them. Link to Royal Road or examples of work will be needed. If accepted, expect excellent editing, to market cover, professional audio, and marketing.

Type 2 is someone who wants to write for a guaranteed check. We do hire authors for co-writes on premises we supply or book 2/3s in a series. To qualify, you need to do custom writing samples we will give you upon your application. They won’t be super long, or used besides as a test, but expect to write custom dialogue, custom action, and to order exposition.

If either of these types of work interest you, send a quick note to submissions for further guidance/evaluation.

At Aethon Books, we’re open to all genre fiction, with a focus on Science Fiction and Fantasy. We don’t care what sub-genre you write in. Hard Sci-fi, Epic Fantasy, Space opera, LitRPG, Military SF, Alt/History, Time Travel and more, our main concern is story, story, story. We are also now open to Thrillers of all types, though with an emphasis on Action, Political, and Military Thrillers.

A compelling narrative should pull us through your world, rife with three-dimensional characters, urgency, and enough conflict to keep things interesting. Make us think, make our heart race, but never forget that the most important thing to us when it comes to fiction, is the plot itself.

We are only looking to publish novel-length work that can either stand-alone or are part of a greater series. No novellas or short story collections at this time. No poetry or plays, graphic novels, or anything else that is plainly not a prose novel.

***Aethon Books is committed to the publication of works by writers of all genders, ethnicities, color, orientation, nationalities, and religious or political beliefs. We are concerned only with the quality and commercial viability of the works submitted to us, and not on the personal backgrounds of the authors.

Join Madix-3 and Brook from Portal books as they talk about Portal Books as a publisher, what to keep in mind when considering choosing a publisher, and writing advice that you can get nowhere else! :)

The following should be emailed to [email protected]

A cover letter telling us a little about yourself and any relevant writing history

A detailed explanation of the core game mechanics - e.g. how your MCs class works, abilities, levelling system, and any other features that are critical to the plot.

Send your full manuscript.

Please remember to include your name and email. We aim to respond to all submissions within three weeks but this is not a guarantee.

Good luck!
