In today's episode of Autistic Assemble I am joined with Scott from Scotland who is autistic, he was diagnosed 10 years ago when he was 16 years old. Scott supports families and has gone into schools to give resources and teach autism! Scott has been doing this foe 2 months at the time of this recording, Scott started doing this in December 2021!

We do talk a lot about being sensory and how more sensory rooms are needed everywhere not just a schools!  We also touch on hobbies and Autistic Burnout and trauma topics that need to spoken about more! 

Scott says his goals for the future will from more connections with Autistic people and relishing value and honour!

In today's episode we are joined by Olivia who is autistic diagnosed the age of 25 as a adult 2 years ago. Olivia shares her diagnosis story and journey and how hard it can be, Olivia shares how feelings how she felt getting diagnosed. We both share getting bullied and how different things were with the understand in the early 200s of Autism. We share school life hyperfixations and more! 

We talk about how getting a diagnosis and a chronic illness can make us be more our authentically our autistic self. Olivia shares her Chronic Illness journey while getting diagnosed late last year, we find that autistic people have Autism and something else a chronic illness it's really common. Having both has helped has think in a way that we are not concerned what others may think of us.

In today's episode on the podcast, I am joined with SD Flame who is autistic diagnosed age with autism and ADHD at age 4! and found out age 10! SD shares his journey growing up and the future, SD Flame talks about there journey Begins. 

SD Flame shares the experience of being bullied and says they got bullied in all forms and types, but the rapping journey started becasue of bullying and a rap battle where SD Flame talks more in depth about. When SD Flame talks about growing up they talk about the culture that was around in that time and night life.

Matilda also has Cerebral Palsy from birth and tells us what's it's like for her and why she decides to advocate for Cerebral Palsy and autism, we talk about a range of topics within being Neurodivergent!

In today's episode I am joined with Aaron Bouma who is from Canada, diagnosed with Autism age of 3 years old. He is a autism advocate and military model woodworker. He does a lot of projects within autism and mental health, and guides for Autistic people.

We talk about the ongoing War in Ukraine, how it effects autistic people, and we say the pandemic is not over, not for everyone. We go on to say a lot autistic people have Autism, and something else if it's part of Neurodivergent or something else this is quite common now.

Today I am joined with Charlie who is an ambassador for the Multi Schools Council and has been for 6 months now. Charlie was diagnosed with Autism in 2021, he said his reaction when he found out that Charlie was shocked. Charlie hobbies are Pokémon, Wednesday the series which has moved so many autistics!  Charlie says he could talk all day long about his hobbies and interests! 

Charlie talks about his love and passion for drawing! he draws things that interest him, he has drawn Thing from the show Wednesday that took him an hour to do it does depend what he is drawing ;like for instance a Pokémon ball would take a short limited amount of time to sketch. 

Charlie answered this question I asked him... ? What's the best part about having Autism ? Charlie's response: "Becasue I am different, if i was the same people would know what I'm going to say before i have said it, difference is good"

In today's episode I am joined with Michael who is Autistic diagnosed the age of 2 years old Talks about his autistic journey. Michael says he was brought up in the world to think autism is a really bad thing from a organisations, we talk about organisations onto more depth and Michael shares his journey around this in 2021 finding out in the community of Autism that being autistic isn't a bad thing it is a good thing! 

We also share and talk about theatre/ableism in theatre where Autistic people are talked over and more definitely needs to be done not just on stage but also off stage too. Which leans nicely into accommodation, as autistic people we want to be accepted.

Today I am joined with Martin who is autistic and was diagnosed when he was 5 in the 1990's and explains there wasn't much knowledge about autism back then. The focus on today's episode is growing up with autism and the future, Martin talks about his journey! 

Martin talks about the support he got growing up with autism and also how it can be hard asking for help. Also martin says when talking about the future he wants to start his own company, do more public speaking talks and write another book perhaps a sequel to his first book. Yes Martin is a author Martin write a book which released in 2020 talking about his life with autism, including school life, growing up. the future and his Mum adds her thoughts from a parents perspective. Martin helps people such as some newly diagnosed children's parents so they have a better understanding and he hopes his big helps a lot of people. Martin has also one an award with book! 

Which leads us onto hobbies, Martin loves photography and sports! 

A great quote to finish the episode from Martin " An arrow can only be shot by being drawn back when life is dragging you back with difficulties it means it will launch you into something greater so hold on and keep aiming"
