Herb Baumeister was a classic American man living the dream. He had a loving wife, three kids and a small chain of thrift stores  in suburban Indianapolis during the 90’s. Seemingly living some sort of double life, men started to go missing. No one suspected the well respected conservative man to be responsible and for a time the crimes went unnoticed and unsolved. In the year 1999 a mysterious barrel is found under the crawl space of the home. Found during a home inspection in the middle of the sale of the house the current owners were tasked with removing the barrel before the new owners were willing to close. In the late 1970’s the city of Los Angeles was in culture shock as the Manson murders unfolded and serial killings were on the rise. A series of slayings take place from 1977 to 1978 and they are dubbed the work of the Hillside Strangler. Then out of nowhere they suddenly cease. Nearly 1200 miles away, two more bodies are found in similar fashion in Bellingham WA. It doesn't take long for the breadcrumbs to lead to the one responsible for them all. In 2001 the attacks of September 11th will always stand out as what is remembered from the year. And while that is true for anyone who was born prior to 1992, there were also many other things that happened, things that were also horrific.
