This week on the Cross-eyed Bear Podcast, Eric and Joe discuss five things that anyone can start doing today to help manage their ongoing complex lives as efficiently and effectively as they can. You can do it! Start today!
In this episode, Eric and Joe not only celebrate the 25th episode(!), but they also center the discussion around our anchor points.
For some, it’s family. It might be your belief system or even the reason you exercise regularly. The benefits of all of the above have been widely documented. When in balance, each focus point would most likely be considered a solid anchor point.
While an anchor is there to secure whatever it’s tethered to, it’s also, by design, meant to be pulled up, so whatever it’s holding in place can move along to another destination.
Life will bring various waves our way. The important thing is to know when it's time to stay firm or when it is time to let that sail unfold.
So what are you anchored to today?
Is it serving you, or is it time to set sail?
In this week’s episode, Eric and Joe welcome back our residential financial advisor, Cory Wintersteen, who returns to lend us some of his expertise and insights on becoming more financially fit. As always, our intention is to provide actual steps anyone can pick up and implement today.
This week Eric and Joe talk about Highlights from the dentist? Well perhaps “Lessons from the Dentist” would have been a more appropriate title because as we all know, everything is perspective. This week’s discussion is centered around the takeaways Coach EP experienced while enduring a month-long focus while taking care of some much-needed (and avoided) dental work.
This week Eric and Joe fire up the grill and toss a sweet slice of life on it. Now take a breath... Breathe deep. Often as we operate through our lives, we will begin processes that will take longer than expected. We accumulate things that need our attention, such as our finances or family. Our calendars start to fill with activities and events. The breath acts as a pattern interrupter.
The biggest battle we will face is the one between our own two ears. As the days creep into weeks and weeks into months, the overwhelm can begin to show itself. We begin to rush. We look for the shortcut or the hack, only to find ourselves busier than ever. Take a listen this week to get all those juices flowing.
“All the juices need to flow before the rotisserie is a go.” - Coach Eric T. Parent
This week Eric and Joe welcome back our friend Jeff Wenberg to discuss the process of positivity. The conversation of positivity is one we need to consistently have in order for us to maintain ours while we operate in a complex world. Without practice, during times of duress, we will default to our lowest level of conditioning so it’s important we work on maintaining our positivity each and every day.
This week Eric and Joe dive into "The Romantic Version". We see “it” portrayed in many aspects of life, some are more obvious of course (insert your favorite romantic movie) and some are more subtle. The subtle versions show up during our quiet moments, when we begin to think about what is, what was, or maybe even what should have been. Tune in, take a listen.
This week, Eric and Joe welcome back Cory Ichikawa-Wintersteen, the den’s residential financial advisor. We discuss the importance of having and following a plan. While it seems simple, “just follow it,” we understand that the true challenge itself is in the consistency within the plan itself, and for a lot of people, it’s the start that stops them.
Without a plan, we often will find ourselves actively pursuing the idea of what we hope the plan provides instead of productively taking the simple necessary steps needed to fill in the gaps of where we are to where we want to be. This bodes true in both the financial and health and fitness realms.
As the final few weeks of summer come to a close, Eric and Joe take a recap of some of our personal stories from our summer. No matter if the summer was spent reliving childhood vacations with new generations or taking in the sights your state or community has to offer, there are always lessons to learn along the way.
This week Eric and Joe chuck the old pigskin around, metaphorically speaking. Since it's the start of the football season, we thought it would be a good time for people to inspect their roster.
When was the last time you inspected your “roster"? Do the people you associate with make you (or your “team”) better? Do they hurt your chances of ‘winning’ with their negativity, low energy, or, have you identified who BRINGS you energy, who’s that “player” that makes your ‘team’ better?
Is your team winning?
Inspect what you expect, if you don’t feel like you, or your “team” is winning, a change in seasons allows you an opportunity to make adjustments.
