We continue in our series Set the Captives Free, Pastor Blake teaches from the book of 2 Corinthians and poses a major question to everyone. How are you doing? No, how are you really doing? Many time when we are asked this question we give a "christian" answer such as "blessed and highly favored". In 2 Corinthians 7:5-7 Paul reveals his heart and honestly writes that he is blessed but also stressed and depressed. This should inspire all of us to be more honest when asked this question.

During a tough season in our life, we may find ourselves in places/situations we do not want to be in. Instead of complaining or trying to develop an exit strategy, we should find purpose in our circumstances.

We continue in our series Set the Captives Free, Pastor Blake teaches from the book of Galatians and poses a major question to everyone. Are you a people pleaser or a God pleaser? If you are working to please God then you cannot allow the opinions and expectations of others to override your calling in Christ.

For the Emmaus Experience with our Pastor, Blake Wilson : our Wednesday bible study we continue in the book of Philippians As a Christian, life will bring you painful/difficult situations but don't let those situations steal your joy. You shouldn't focus so much on what you are going through to the point where it paralyzes you. Jesus can/will mobilize you in a difficult situation to be a blessing for someone else.

We continue in our series Set the Captives Free, Pastor Blake teaches from Matthew 6. During Jesus' sermon on the mount he teaches us that we should examine our motives for everyone thing we do and not seek recognition or approval from man but know God sees us and we have an eternal reward.

For the Emmaus Experience Wednesday bible study, we return to our study on the book of Philippians. This week Pastor Blake teaches from Acts 16 about about the background of what happened in Philippi. Paul and Silas (disciples of Jesus) are in prison for preaching the Gospel and at midnight God does an amazing thing that leaves to belief of the non-believing jailer that was keeping watch over the prison.

Many times as believers, we treat God like the CEO of a company. If we don't make mistakes and work hard we believe we can go higher on the Christian corporate ladder, earning more in God's eyes. The truth is, for believers of the Gospel, you can neither sin your way out of, or earn your way into God's family.
