The task of being a father can feel daunting and taxing, but the Bible has numerous passages that will point a father in the right direction. The Church was never intended to be simply an organization, a civic group, or even a business. Instead, the Church was to be about the business of the Father while serving the community with the message of hope and peace found in Jesus. The Church was always supposed to bring change and change happens only when the Church understands that she is best portrays Christ when she gives. If any word could truly describe the church it just may be the word Give. Her life is one of giving - to the poor, broken, or forgotten. She is characterized by how she gives of her time and talents to bring glory to God. She will be known for the way she willfully gives of herself in every way. This week, Pastor Butler speaks to us about the foundation for the Church and how the one word to describe her may most likely be “Give”.
