Burgess Owens is a former University of Miami and NFL star who travels the country delivering a message of optimism and hope. One of the first three Black Americans to play football at the University of Miami, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry and simultaneously gained recognition as a football powerhouse. Following college, Burgess was the 13th player, first defensive back drafted in the 1st round by the NY Jets. Later that year he was selected as the Jets Rookie of the Year and to the NFL's All- Rookie team. After being traded to the Oakland Raiders, Burgess led the Raiders defensive squad in tackles on their way to a Super Bowl Championship in 1980. In his last year with the Raiders, in 1982, he led the team in interceptions and was selected as 1st Alternate to the NFL All Pro-Bowl. Since retiring from the NFL in 1983, Burgess has been involved in both corporate and entrepreneurial endeavors. Burgess travels throughout the country speaking of the intrinsic principles that underline the foundation of our American way of life.

He’s he author of WHY I STAND: FROM FREEDOM TO THE KILLING FIELDS OF SOCIALISM and  LIBERALISM, OR HOW TO TURN GOOD MEN INTO WHINERS, WEENIES, and WIMPS. He’s running for Utah’s 4th Congressional District.

Dr. Hunter Baker, The End of Secularism

Hunter Baker: Hunter Baker, J.D., Ph.D. dean of arts and sciences serves as a university fellow and professor of political science at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. He is the author of three books (The End of Secularism, Political Thought: A Student's Guide, and The System Has a Soul), has contributed chapters to several others, and has written for a wide variety of print and digital publications. His work has been endorsed by Robert P. George, Russell Moore, David Dockery, John Mark Reynolds and others. He is the winner of the 2011 Michael Novak Award conferred by the Acton Institute and has lectured widely on religion and liberty. And a fellow of the Acton Institute. In addition to his work at Union, Baker also serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Markets and Morality and as a contributing editor for Touchstone: A Journal of Mere Christianity. He is also a research fellow of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. Baker co-founded the publication, The City, in 2008. It is still published today.

Rachel Jankovic is a wife, homemaker, and mother. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts & Culture from New Saint Andrews College, but mostly reads cookbooks now to avoid story grip (being highly susceptible). In 2003, she married her husband Luke, and they have seven children who know how to party. Rachel loves color, fabric, yarn to knit with, kids to laugh with, and laundry (not so much).

Club Update

We invite you to support our show and the best way to do this is to join our club. For far too long we have allowed secular media outlets like CNN, MSNBC, Fox, and others to dominate our airwaves. The advancement of the internet and technology, means that CrossPolitic is not bound to the gatekeepers of mainstream media. But here is the catch, in order to compete with mainstream media, we need to crowdsource our efforts. What do I mean by that, we need you to join our army of club members, so that we will have the resources to not only compete with mainstream media, but to take it over because Jesus is King. So we are building something that hopefully by the grace of God will become a big voice for Christians all over the world. In three years, with little resources, we have found placement in millions of households on Direct TV and Xfinity, and we will reach about 3 million in podcast downloads in this year alone.
