Why is it so hard to love people who are unlovable and to love our enemies? It shouldn’t be so hard to extend grace given how much the God, who is Love, has extended grace to us.

What happens when you expect one thing from someone and they do the unexpected? What if that Person is God? This sermon will explore how the greatest Man ever to live (every human being will say He is Lord one day), wields His power, lived His life, and inaugurated a Kingdom that is very unexpected.

It’s amazing how we humans can mess up our religion. It’s really amazing how Jesus cleans up that mess! In this passage Jesus helps us “refocus” our faith.

Many look out at the world today and think it has gone mad. Is it possible that this is part of God’s plan and He has reasons for allowing it to go this way? Isn’t that scary? Yes it is… and yes God has reasons to do what He is doing. We will explore those reasons through the Bible.

God is "inscrutable"...we cannot fully comprehend Him. But when He makes HImself "known" the sight is glorious!

What in the world is God doing? Or...What is God doing in the world? This was the question John the Baptist was wrestling with while sitting in prison. He finally sent some of his followers to ask if Jesus was the Messiah. Jesus' answer was instructive to John and to everyone...and it answers the biggest question of all: What is God doing in the world...what is the Big Plan?

What is faith? Believing certain things about God? Yes, but much more. It is a conviction that the things about God are true and real and for me. But it's even more than that! It involves action...trusting...a vital connection with the person of Christ. Matthew illustrates Real Faith in Action with a series of people interacting with Jesus in an intensely packed section which we will examine in this sermon.

We are pilgrims, just passing through this world on our way to the promised land. But many things turn our hearts and soon we start acting like this is our final home… this fallen passing world. This sermon will explore those dangers and how to keep our “Pilgrim Mindset”.
