ONE WORD: He is looking for CONSISTENCY.

Psalms 40:2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

PSALMS 103:13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. For he knows what we are made of; he realizes we are made of clay.

Dr. George Gill - “God remembers that we are dust, but man sometimes forgets it and gets stuck on himself. And when dust gets stuck on itself, it’s mud.”

Jer. 18:4 - Then I went down to the potter's house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.

FAMILY TIME: TAKE A PALM LEAF - AND FORM IT INTO A CROSS. TAKE A RED RIBBON – AND PLACE IT ON THE DOORPOST OF OUR HOME.
HOW DO WE RESPOND TO THIS? Like Jesus did
Isaiah 53:7 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. SILENCE… PATIENCE… ACCEPTANCE
HIS RESPONSE IS OUR EXAMPLE OF HOW WE RESPOND: 1. BE SILENT - no reason to blame anyone…speak evil of anyone…be silent 2. BE PATIENT – ability to tolerate delays without being annoyed or anxious. Rom12:12 – rejoicing in HOPE, patient in tribulation, steadfast in prayer… 3. BE ACCEPTING – JESUS accepted that moment as an opportunity to please Gods heart and fulfill His will. “NOT MY WILL..BUT YOURS BE DONE”

Week – Hope That Destroys Earthly Fears
Proverbs 13:12 - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But when the desire (longing of one’s heart) comes, it is a tree of life.
defer – to postpone, delay, place at the end; bottom line – hope that is placed at the end can cripple your faith.
SCIENCE – calls it a psychosomatic illness – a physical manifestation of the emotional world.
The Broken Heart Syndrome – mimics a heart attack and brought about by stress.
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
REMIND YOU HOW TO HOPE
SOCIAL DISTANCING – not only physically but spiritually. (If that’s true today physically, how much more spiritually)
Isaiah 53:1, 4-5 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
STIMULUS PACKAGE – from Jesus
John 14-16 - Jesus gave the disciples a full-proof survival kit during any crisis.
John 16:1, Jesus says, "These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.” (made to stumble)
Mark 4:17, when a person is offended, Satan takes the Word of God from them.

Week 3 – A Good Kind of Fear

…for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.                                                                          - Proverbs 9:10

Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
