Christmas is meant to remind us: Jesus, is God with us.

As adults and children begin creating their Christmas lists to share with their loved ones, God created an important Christmas list of names for us to discover. Jesus’ genealogy includes men like David the shepherd protector, Boaz the kinsman redeemer, and Josiah the king of covenant renewal. They all foreshadowed and started what Jesus would ultimately come at Christmas to finish and fulfill. Jesus is our Shepherd, Redeemer, and King. 

Matthew 4:17 NIV

17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

2 Kings 22-23

Live as sons and daughters of the King of Kings. 

Where is Jesus not King and Lord of your life? How can you let him in and surrender to him?

Repent and let times of refreshing into your life.

Just as Boaz redeemed Ruth, Jesus redeems us.

Have you considered asking Jesus to be your redeemer? He wants to do that for you.

This message is to call out the behaviors and attitudes that come with serving ourselves more than asking what we can give God and others. We are called to advance and build God’s kingdom not our own. A self-serving attitude builds only self-serving kingdoms.

Ask God how He would have you work to build His kingdom.
