Crossroads - Weekend Messages

Tabernacle is the final series in our study of the book of Exodus. The focus is now on the portable worship venue. God created His people for worship and He is specific in His desires for how and why we worship. From the layout to furniture, God details everything for a specific purpose. Christians for thousands of years have been blown away by how each of these details points us to the greater temple, Jesus Christ. You will be blown away by this final series in the book of Exodus.

If you have a favorite criminal investigation TV show, you have been riveted watching people examine clues and assess details of a case. You know the case will be resolved by the end of the episode, but it's the process of cracking the case that keeps viewers coming back for more. Just like those TV shows, Jesus examines His church in Revelation 2-3. In those 7 letters to 7 local churches, He does a forensic study of each church body and explains who He is, what they're doing well and not so well, and He closes with a challenge and a promise. This first message to the church in Ephesus is sure to keep you hooked!

How do you decide what something is worth? Seems pretty easy...we all go to the store and decide if something's worth the price they’re asking for. As Christians, it's common to say that Jesus is "worthy." But what is Jesus worthy of? When we think about it for a minute, we realize He’s worth everything we can give! In the final message in our "Because Jesus is Real, We Respond" series, Pastor Daniel will walk us through the eight Core Values of our Crossroads church family. Our Core Values explain what it looks like when a church family takes Jesus at His word and simply responds. After we talk about these values, we will hold onto them and use them as a yardstick for our future as we live for Jesus, because He is worthy.

Because Jesus is real, we are a family of faith, fully engaged, transforming our community and our world. This is God’s vision for our Crossroads community. As we simply respond to Jesus, we are used in extraordinary ways to bless people in their places of pain in Jesus’ name. This week we hit on something very powerful...transforming our community and our world. Jesus links hands with us to accomplish amazing things, and we will explore what that can look like in your life, and the life of your friends and neighbors.

God has just delivered the children of Israel from Egypt. Between the Passover event and the deliverance at the Red Sea, God moved powerfully in the lives of the children of Israel. As the narrative continues, God chooses to meet with Moses and the children of Israel at Mt. Sinai. Sinai is where God begins to share His heart for His people. God gives His law (i.e. the righteous requirements for living) at Sinai. In dramatic fashion, God meets with His people and explains to them what it means to live a godly life. The New Testament reveals to us that the law reveals our sinfulness and our need for a Savior. Thus, the law points to our need for salvation in Jesus. What an incredible reality!

At every moment of every day, Jesus is real, and lives with us at street level. As He folds us into His family of faith at Crossroads, we become His compassionate change agents. He is transforming us so that we can transform our community and our world. What does it mean to be transformed? As we gather this weekend, Pastor Daniel will unpack the reality of how Jesus changes us from the inside out.
