Life is messy. We all know it. We all experience it. And we are trying to deal with life’s messiness. But here’s the deal: life is messy, but don’t worry, Jesus is real. That is the message of Christianity. As we begin a journey through the book of Ephesians, one of the most widely read books of the New Testament, we find that it is brutally honest about the challenges we face and how they intersect with the finished work of Jesus.
Now in the final chapter of the book of Exodus, the book reaches its climax. The children of Israel have been delivered from Egyptian bondage and they have been commanded to build the Tabernacle. All of the construction is now completed. All of the furnishings are made. And something unexpected happens. God's glory fills this mobile worship tent.
As we have continued through Revelation 2-3, we have seen Jesus do a forensic analysis of the seven churches. Our Case Study series was extraordinarily illuminating for us. We got a chance to see what Jesus values and what Jesus is concerned about in each of the churches. To close out this series, Pastor Daniel will be applying Jesus’ checklist to our family of faith, Crossroads. In doing so, we will get a chance to learn about where God is leading us in the coming months. The Lord’s message to us is clear: Transform My world.
Like a beautiful home that has termites eroding the foundation, we really cannot judge a book by its cover. This same reality holds true for people, and especially things in the spiritual realm. This week’s Case Study looks at Jesus’ last letter to the seven churches. The Laodiceans had some real issues under the surface, they were in serious trouble and they didn’t even realize it. But Jesus loves His church and wants to see it prosper. What was His diagnosis and how do we fix our life when it's unhealthy in places only we know about? Come and learn the keys to overcoming, and bring friends to celebrate the freedom Jesus offers us this Sunday at Crossroads!
After all the preparations, it is finally here. It is time to actually construct the Tabernacle. God had given specific directions. The people gave with exceeding generosity. God had placed His Spirit on the builders. The people simply obeyed and the construction phase begins. The construction of the Tabernacle covers Exodus 36-39. This is the 2nd part of a teaching on these 4 chapters.
A famous saying says, “When God closes one door, He opens another one.” And you know what? It's true! He is in control, and He has big plans for us when we follow Him. As we continue our Case Study series, we come to the church in Philadelphia in Revelation 3. It's a faithful church that was walking toward what looked like an open door. Jesus’ diagnosis was simple: Just Walk Through. It’s the same choice for us today...listen and learn more about how to follow God when it feels like doors are closing. He has an amazing plan for your life!

The children of Israel are almost ready to build the Tabernacle. All of the details have been explained by the Lord. The calamity of the idolatry of the Golden Calf is now behind them. God has restored the covenant with the children of Israel. All that is left before the construction of the Tabernacle is gathering the materials and the willingness of the people. Exodus 35 is all about both of these things.
Founding Pastor Bill Ritchie explains the importance of being fully committed to what God wants to do.
