  • The Messy Mystery

The Apostle Paul was completely blown away by what Jesus had done. Paul was raised as a Pharisee who spent his life devoted to the strict interpretation of the Law of Moses, so the fact that God had given the Gentiles (non-Jews) equal access to Himself was astounding. What benevolent grace! Paul was so amazed, he just wanted to keep sharing it with the church in Ephesus. In our Life is Messy series, this week we explore “This Messy Mystery” in Ephesians 3. Come and learn more about God’s work through Jesus and what it really means. The application of it is truly overwhelming, and something worth sharing with the community around us. See you Sunday morning!

  • The Sin Offering

Forgiveness costs. When there is a severing in any relationship, someone has to pay something in order to restore that relationship. The same is true for our relationship with God. This study in Leviticus 4 shows us the mandatory offering called the "sin offering". When a person sinned against God, they brought an appropriate offering seeking after forgiveness. The sin offering, like all the Levitical offerings, were fulfilled in God's final and permanent sacrifice, Jesus Christ.

  • Jesus, Lord of the Mess

Our Life is Messy series in the book of Ephesians has exposed many different types of "messes" we face in our lives. Our understanding of God is messy. We, as individuals, are as messy as our circumstances. We also saw how we can pray in the midst of the mess, and move forward with joy in our daily life. This week, we look at another difficult fact of life: messy divisions between people. Just as the two sides of congress have walls between them, in the Apostle Paul’s culture, there was a great divide between Jews and Gentiles. And the reality is, Jesus, the Lord of the mess, wants to tear down walls and bring people together as one. How does that work? Learn more about it this Sunday, and bring a friend with you to experience what God is up to at Crossroads!

  • Grace In the Mess

Life is messy. Really messy. If we're honest, we are each just as much of a mess as everything else. Life is messy because we are messy. One of the most amazing things about the Bible is its radical realism. The Bible doesn’t shy away from expressing the fact that we are all total train-wrecks! It also doesn’t shy away from the reality that God still loves us and is not finished working on us. Jesus came precisely because of God’s love and our messiness. In our next installment of the Life is Messy series from the book of Ephesians, Pastor Daniel will be walking us through Grace in the Mess. This message of God’s grace despite us will be transformative. This Sunday’s message will be equally engaging for the believer and the seeker.

  • The Grain and Peace Offering

The book of Leviticus opens with an explanation of five different offerings. These offerings served many different functions within the life of the children of God. Two of the main functions are worship and fellowship. Sacrifices were made to God as acts of devotion and to continue that relationship. In this second message of the Sacrifice series, Pastor Daniel will be looking at the second and third offerings, the grain and the peace offering.

The book of Leviticus is all about the holiness of God. Because of God's otherness, humanity is asked to worship in a very specific way. Leviticus opens with a series of five different types of offerings. Each offering has a specific purpose and way it should be carried out. In this message Pastor Jack looks at Sacrifice as a question of source.

  • Prayer in the Mess

We had an incredible fall launch Sunday last week, and we dove into our new series "Life Is Messy." We see in Ephesians that as much as we try to avoid life's disappointments, we find that God works through the chaos to give us the true desire of our hearts, Christ-likeness. God transforms the messiness into a miracle of love and grace. Come Sunday to learn why prayer is essential to navigating life's messes, and bring friends as we reach out to our community with the hope of Jesus. Life is messy, but Jesus is real.
