On this episode of DMP, Jonny welcomes back podcast hijacker Taylor Hill for a supremely confident tour through the music of Bruce Springsteen. We couldn't possible encapsulate the 40-year career of The Boss in one show, but Taylor's selections show several facets of this prolific songwriter and legendary showman. Here's the setlist:
1. Blinded By the Light (Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.)
2. Thunder Road (Born to Run)
3. The Promised Land (Darkness at the Edge of Town)
4. The Rising (The Rising)
5. I'm on Fire (Born in the U.S.A.)
6. Prove It All Night (Live 1978)
7. Land of Hope and Dreams (Wrecking Ball)
8. My City of Ruins (The Rising)
9. Rosalita (The Wild, the Innocent, & the E Street Shuffle)
Encore:
The Pointer Sisters - "Fire" (Energy)

Everybody loves kung-fu-fighting! And also Jeopardy. Due to extremely high* demand, Frozen North Dinnercast is back with another thrilling episode of Jeopardy, co-hosted (and co-written) by Zach and Marcus. The usual cast is around, of course, including Courtney and Nelson (our Returning Champsion), but also Luke Miller, who you may remember from the last episode, and fresh eat Brittney, who gets the most important question of the game right. Who wins? Who loses? You'll just have to slog through the whole show to find out--but I guarantee it's not me or Marcus.
*unbelievably low

Hey, folks! We're back with more Box Office Poison, and it's a pretty special one because, for the first time ever (excluding Movies of the Month), we've all seen the same movie: Prometheus! We go into a pretty lengthy discussion (a whopping 40 minutes!) on the Sci-Fi epic, and I know you'll really enjoy it. We also cover such flicks as Jeff Who Lives at Home, Project X, The Machinist and God Bless America.
In the second segment we go over some good ol' Trailer Trash: Django Unchained, Take This Waltz, Wreck-It Ralph and Argo. There are a couple real gems in there, so be sure to tune in.

See you again on Friday for another brand new BOP!
Karl is back to help Jonny with a request episode, as we explore The Clash per the wishes of a listener named Reagan. This British band from the laste 70s and early 80s is best known for anthemic punk songs like "London Calling" and "Should I Stay or Should I Go" but, as you'll hear, they explored many kinds of music and featured a sophisticated level of production and musicianship rarely heard among punk bands. The songs below are impressively (or contentiously) diverse and extremely interesting throughout.
1. White Riot (The Clash)
2. White Man in Hammersmith Palais (The Clash)
3. Career Opportunities (The Clash)
4. Complete Control (The Clash)
5. Safe European Home (Give 'Em Enough Rope)
6. Rudie Can't Fail (London Calling)
7. Lost in the Supermarket (London Calling)
8. Death or Glory (London Calling)
9. The Card Cheat (London Calling)
10. The Magnificent Seven (Sandinista!)
11. Rebel Waltz (Sandinista!)
12. Kingston Advice (Sandinista!)
Encore:
Johnny Cash & Joe Strummer - "Redemption Song" (Unearthed)

After a bit of a vacation, Crosstawk Comics is back and ready to entertain! This episode, Karl and Gus discuss their favorite Spider-Man stories in anticipation of the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man film directed by Marc Webb. And best of all, most of these stories are fairly recent, so they'll be easy to find in trade or digitally.

See you next time for a new episode of Box Office Poison!
Have you heard of the game Cards Against Humanity? If I may be so bold, it is The Greatest Thing Ever. To prove that, we've put together a full complement of horrible people to test it, and we're broadcasting the result to you good listeners. This is Apples to Apples, but really fucked up. Some of Zach's Connectivity co-hosts tested this baby out at E3, and by the end of it, we'd gotten quite an ab workout from laughing so hard. Hope you enjoy it, and write in to tell us if you did. We may post a second round if ya'll enjoyed yourselves. Remember to rate and review us on iTunes under the Crosstawk ("with a W") banner. Send us a message at [email protected] or just use the comments on the website (crosstawk.com). And check out Cards Against Humanity. With a group of like-minded people, you can't have more fun.
It's been scientifically proven.
Karl returns to DMP and greatly expands Jonny's knowledge of Gorillaz, the "virtual band" created by singer Damon Albarn and comic artist Jamie Hewlett, along with a rotating cast of superstar producers and guest contributors. The group is loosely built around hip-hop and club music, but those are hardly strict boundaries, as you'll hear in Karl's selections:
1. Clint Eastwood [Gorillaz]
2. Sound Check (Gravity) [Gorillaz]
3. Latin Simone (Que Pasa Contigo) [Gorillaz]
4. 19-2000 (Soulchild Remix) [Gorillaz]
5. Feel Good Inc. [Demon Days]
6. November Has Come [Demon Days]
7. Dirty Harry [Demon Days]
8. Don't Get Lost in Heaven [Demon Days]
9. Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach (Plastic Beach)
10. Plastic Beach [Plastic Beach]
11. On Melancholy Hill [Plastic Beach]
Encore:
Deltron 3030 - "Time Keeps on Slipping" [Deltron 3030]

Hey, folks! Just as promised, we've got a new episode of Box Office Poison here for you. Now, unfortunately, there were some technical issues, and as a result, Jon Rind's track's going to sound unusual. We could've held the episode back because of this, but I feel like there's enough great content to justify releasing Episode 32 into the wild. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
There's still plenty of great content, though. We discuss God Bless America, The Avengers, Chronicle and then, in our second segment, we discuss our Movie of the Month: Brazil. Did we all enjoy the 1984-inspired romp? You'll have to listen in to find out!
And let us know what you thought via email ([email protected]), Twitter (@crosstawk, @JonathanRind, @jonnymetts, @Stan_I_Am and @StrikerObi) or in the comments section on the site. And be sure to leave us a rating/review on iTunes! We really need those!
Thanks, guys! We'll see you next time for a new Discover Music Project.
And we're back for more BOP! We're finishing up the crazy backlog of episodes, folks, and little by little, we're working back to the present. On this episode, I'm back! Stan, Jon Rind, Mike and I talk about Shame, Billy Jack, Our Idiot Brother and Cabin in the Woods. Then, in the second segment, we go through some Trailer Trash, discussing Looper, Brave, Mansome and To Rome with Love.
Let us know what you think by hitting us up via email ([email protected]), Twitter (@crosstawk, @Stan_I_Am, @JonathanRind, @StrikerObi and @jonnymetts) and in the comments section on the site. And please head on over to iTunes and leave us a rating/review. We'd surely appreciate it!
We'll see you again on Wednesday for Episode 32!
After far too long of an absence, I'm very happy to present a brand new episode of Rough Draught: The Beer Appreciation Show! Ultimately, we knew that we'd never be able to produce RD with any regularity since Jon, Mike and I all live so spread out, so basically the promise is this: when at least two of us are in the same city, we'll record a one-off episode. So enjoy the first: The Dirty Deerfield Diaries.
On this episode, Jon and I are joined by our good buddy Casper and Jon's girlfriend Katie. And as you'll hear pretty much right away, we made some, er, INTERESTING choices when it comes to the beers, including: Dogfish Head Bitches Brew (9% ABV), Ghost Face Killah (4.5% ABV), Clown Shoes Eagle Claw Fist (8% ABV), The Bruery Saison de Lente (6.5% ABV) and Dogfish Head My Antonia (7.5% ABV).
And, as per usual, there are plenty of embarrassing drunk tales to be found within. So enjoy 'em, and once you have, you can let us know what you thought via email ([email protected]), Twitter (@crosstawk) or via the comment section on the site. And please please PLEASE leave us a review on iTunes. It's our only hope!
See you next time, folks!
