It's double-time this week on The Frozen North Dinnercast as Zach combines two episodes in one to give you a double-dipping of local Alaskan flavor. Can you deal with that much northern exposure? You'll have to listen to find out.

Come back on Friday for a brand new episode of Discover Music Project co-starring Jon Rind!
Hey, folks, this episode of BOP is a little different. Rather than our usual format, we decided to skip What We've Been Watching and jumped straight into Trailer Trash, discussing Moonrise Kingdom, Lockout, Casa de mi Padre and Jeff Who Lives at Home.
Then, in the second segment, we covered our Top 5 Favorite Movies of 2011. It's a pretty length segment, and in all, this episode clocks in at nearly two and a half hours. So enjoy! We'll be back in two weeks to discuss Stan's Movie of the Month for February, Paper Moon. It's on Netflix Instant, so be sure to play along!
See you next week when Discover Music Project returns with guest Jon Rind!
Shipping on time in 2012, it's Crosstawk Comics! This time, the show's gonna be a little different. Seeing as how Gus and I are discussing alternate realities in comics, we figured we'd switch it up - he's hosting, while I'm the lowly co-pundit. So enjoy the change in dynamic - surely I will never allow it again.
In all seriousness, it's an awesome episode, and you can let us know what you thought of it via email ([email protected]), Twitter (@crosstawk) or in the comments section on the site.
Come back later in the week for a brand new episode of Box Office Poison!
After far too long a wait, the latest episode of Box Office Poison is ready to go! This time, the gang discusses The Artist, Best Worst Movie, Blade Runner, Hanna, more of Louis CK's comedy specials and even an odd Michael Douglas flick. Then, in the second segment, it's time to talk about Jonny's Movie of the Month: Withnail & I. Did we all enjoy this quirky indie darling as much as Jonny did? You'll have to listen to find out.
Next month, we'll be talking about Paper Moon, so be sure to catch it on Netflix Instant if you want to play along. And if you've got anything of your own to let us know about, you've got email ([email protected]), the comments section on the site, or any of our various Twitter handles (Karl: @crosstawk, Mike: @StrikerObi, Jonny: @jonnymetts, Stan: Stan_I_Am, Jon: @jonathanrind).
We'll see you again later in the week for a brand new Crosstawk Comics and ANOTHER great episode of Box Office Poison!
Our gracious host Karl Castaneda returns to DMP to showcase one of his all-time favorite bands, The Velvet Underground. This is easily one of the most influential rock bands of all time, thanks to Lou Reed's odd songwriting choices and the band's eclectic brand of psychadelia. You can hear elements of Velvet Underground music in artists as diverse as The Ramones, Neil Young, Phish, and Wilco. (Hey, we've also done episodes on all those guys!) Karl is a big fan, and you might be too after hearing these songs:
1. I'm Waiting for the Man (The Velvet Underground & Nico)
2. Venus in Furs (The Velvet Underground & Nico)
3. Heroin (The Velvet Underground & Nico)
4. Lady Godiva's Operation (White Light / White Heat)
5. Here She Comes Now (White Light / White Heat)
6. Pale Blue Eyes (The Velvet Underground)
7. After Hours (The Velvet Underground)
8. Rock & Roll [Alternate Mix] (Fully Loaded)
9. Sweet Jane (Loaded)
10. Oh! Sweet Nuthin' (Loaded)
Encore:
Walk on the Wild Side - Lou Reed (Transformer)

Because you demanded it! The Frozen North Dinnercast's pilot on Crosstawk Presents had an amazing reception, and as such, it's been graduated to regular series! From here on out, every other Tuesday, you'll be treated to cold-weather dining. This week, the crew's talking to you from an actual diner. Babies crying, silverware clanging back and forth and the hustle and bustle of a crowded restaurant can all be heard. But above all else, the jibber-jabber of our favorite Alaskans prevails.

Thanks for listening, folks!
Jonny welcomes back his Internet friend Jon Rind for another listener request show, this time on the music of G. Love and his amusingly titled rhythm section, Special Sauce. This Philly-based bluesman/rapper has a fun, unique style of music that blends genres in a way you don't often hear. Jonny recently went to his first G. Love show for New Year's Eve, so he has a very fresh experience to draw from as the duo explores this music. Here's the setlist:
1. Cold Beverages (G. Love & Special Sauce)
2. Blues Music (G. Love & Special Sauce)
4. Small Fish (Coast to Coast Motel)
5. Kiss and Tell (Coast to Coast Motel)
6. Recipe (Yeah, It's That Easy)
7. Stepping Stones (Yeah, It's That Easy)
8. Astronaut (The Hustle)
9. Give It To You feat. Jack Johnson (The Hustle)
10. Booty Call (The Hustle)
11. Back of the Bus (The Hustle)
12. Ain't That Right (Lemonade)
13. Rainbow feat. Jack Johnson (Lemonade)
Encore:
Mayer Hawthorne - "The Walk" (How Do You Do)
Please let us know what you think via email ([email protected]) or Twitter (@crosstawk, @jonnymetts, and @JonathanRind). Jon will return imminently with more hip-hop (and hip-hop things)!
Hello and welcome to a brand new episode of Box Office Poison. Jon Rind unfortunatley wasn't around to record for this episode, but there are still plenty of movies and movie thing to talk about. In the first segment, there's tons of year-end flicks to go over, from Tintin to Ghost Protocol to Girl With the Dragon Tattoo to Young Adult to even Dogtooth, Attack the Block and Pitch Black!
Then, in the second segment, we get together for another round of Trailer Trash and discuss Prometheus, The Dark Knight Rises, GI Joe: Retaliation and The Hobbit. It might be the best collection of trailers yet, so you don't want to miss it.
We'll be back in two weeks for our Movie of the Month, Withnail and I, which you can catch at any time on Netflix Instant. In the mean time, if you've got any thoughts, questions or concerns, you can let us know via email ([email protected]), Twitter (@crosstawk) or in the comments section on the site.
And if you haven't listened yet, make sure you hit up the pilot for our latest show, The Frozen North Dinnercast, hosted by our good friend Zach Miller.
Thanks for listening, everybody! This upcoming Tuesday, Hardcore Nerdography makes its much-awaited return!
It's the first new Crosstawk series of 2012! From the cold, bitter wasteland known as Alaska comes The Frozen North Dinnercast! You'll recognize its Master of Ceremonies, Zach Miller, from NintendoWorldReport.com's Newscast and Connectivity. Every two weeks, he and his buddies Nelson, Marcus and Courtney will gather around the dinner table and shoot the shit. The shit they're shooting this time is their Top 10 Favorite Movies of All Time, and they're apparently chowing down on bacon cheeseburgers and chicken breast.
