Do you know where the expression G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) comes from? In September of 1992 Muhammed Ali's wife, Lonnie, created a company to protect the boxer's intellectual property under the name "G.O.A.T." - Greatest of All Time.
In 2000, LL Cool J released an album entitled G.O.A.T. where he later credited Ali as the inspiration behind the name of the album.
So when you think of the greatest of all time, who do you think of and why?
- Muhammed Ali: 56 wins. 5 losses. 37 knockouts.
- Tom Brady: 243 wins. 73 losses. x7 Super Bowl Champion.
- Tiger Woods: 82 PGA wins. 18 major championships.
- Michael Jordan: 706 wins. 366 losses. 6 NBA championships.
- Lou Gehrig: .340 avg. 113.6 WAR. .447 OBP. x7 World Series Champion.
When we think of the greatest of ALL time, it needs to be someone who stands the test of time.
As we continue our new message series called "Journey," we will be looking at God's "numbers" and track record throughout history.
Who has stood the test of time more than Jesus? Look at God's track record in the Bible...He is undefeated. Even when Jesus went up against death, he was knocked down, but not out. Yes, he died on the cross, but three days later he rose from the dead.
