The Hawaiian Islands are best seen by The Pride of America! You start in Honolulu and go to Kahului Maui, Hilo Hawaii, Kona Hawaii, Nawiliwili Kaua'i and return to Honolulu Oahu. The Pride of America is the only ship that starts and ends in Hawaii. This is the perfect way to see Hawaii without having 4 sea days back to back because you are departing from the mainland.

One of the other itineraries I have locked in group pricing and space on is a Greek islands itinerary. This itinerary starts in Athens and has stops in Rhodes, Bodrum, Mykonos, Paros, Crete, Santorini and returns to Athens. On Norwegian Jade.

Maxine was onboard the Celebrity Summit when we met. It is great to see that many ships have returned to service. 11 out of 14 celebrity ships are back with guests onboard.  

We took a look at the protocols in place to keep you healthy.  We also discussed why booking with an agent and a Virtuoso Agent is strongly recommended!

Celebrity includes in their base fare your drinks, tips and wifi.  

You can increase your package to "Elevate," which bumps you up to Premium Alcohol package and $100 per person OBC on sailings five nights or less, $150 per person from 6-9 nights voyage and $200 per person if your sailing is longer than ten days.

If you love being pampered, you can upgrade to their "indulge" package, the Premium Drink Package, your wifi is upgraded to Wifi Stream, and you get double the Onboard credit that you get in the Elevate package. First off, I wanted to apologize that this week's episode is 2 days late. On this week's episode, Kathleen from Plenty of Sunshine Travel met with Kristen from Hurtigruten. We did an excellent brand overview and looked at their beyond-amazing itineraries and why Sustainable travel is so important to them.

Hurtigruten takes part in a fantastic program called "Citizen Science"  This program does many great things but what stood out to me was a super aspect - where when you see a whale, you can log into the app. They will let you know where this exact whale has migrated from, its approximate size and many other details. If it is a new whale yet to be reported, then you get to name the whale!   

Seriously... who would have thought that you would go on a cruise and be able to name a whale? That is the best keepsake while on a cruise!   

Your accommodations and the food on Hurtigruten are something you will return to again and again! Their food is simply excellent. You are dining in a 5-star restaurant each night. You do not have to give up on luxury because you are out in the elements each day.   

Speaking of being out in the elements, Hurtigruten provides you with a parka that is yours to keep, as well as boots, a walking stick and a reusable water bottle. There are no single-use plastics in use while onboard anywhere.  

Their expedition crew staff are so well versed in the local area, and they love sharing their knowledge with you.  Also, you get to engage with the locals and learn about their way of life. 

On many voyages, you can help the crew clean up the shoreline so that when you depart, you are leaving the area better than when you arrived.  I love that your welcoming committee when you get to land is a colony of penguins. What a way to be welcomed! I would take that any day!   When you sail with Hurtigruten to see the northern lights, they promise that if you don't see the lights, Hurtigruten will give you another sailing for free!  Now that's a promise! Wow!

On this week's episode, Kathleen from Plenty of Sunshine Travel met with Danielle from Virgin Voyages.

We did an excellent brand overview and looked at their beyond-amazing itineraries as well as look at Bimini - which is the private beach exclusively for Virgin Voyages sailors (which is what they call their passengers)  

.

Danielle was on The Scarlet Lady while we met with her. It was great to see the ship while chatting. She was sitting in "Sip" while we met. It really does show how great the complimentary wifi is! We had no issues with dropping the signal strength. If your job is remote, why not go on Virgin and work from your own balcony?

.

The Beach Club at Bimini is on all of the itineraries on The Scarlet Lady. The Beach Club is only available to Virgin Voyages passengers. In the afternoon, there is. DJ, so that will really set the tone or the vibe of the club then in the evenings are more of a tranquil atmosphere.  

.

They also have bonfires at the beach. Where you can actually roast marshmallows! Betcha didn't think that could happen on a cruise?? But, with Virgin Voyages, you can!   

.

The ship is in port for a total of 12 hours! So you really have the time to sit back, relax and be pampered. There are even swings in the water to bring out your inner child.  

.

All your food is included on this beach day. The ingredients are from The Bahamas. So, not only does the food have the local flavour, the food is harvested locally as well.

The excursions available are so unique! I wouldn't expect anything less than that with Virgin! Want to swim with the sharks? You can do that! You start out by snorkelling around a shipwreck, then end up snorkelling with nurse sharks!

On this week's cruise chat Kathleen from Plenty of Sunshine Travel met with Ernie from G adventures.  We did a brand overview and took a look how G adventures makes a difference in the lives of the people from the areas they visit.
