We chatted about current trends that Oceania is seeing, with longer voyages and fantastic itineraries. We also discussed what makes Oceania different than the cruise lines, with their shore excursions and the opportunities that Oceania gives to make your voyage memorable.
. I love how Oceania provides the opportunity to learn more about the areas you visit. From Truffle hunting with local farmers or cooking with Grandma in the kitchen. You can also learn from an Architectural Historian about the castles and museums that you will visit. The collection of excursions are called Go Green, Go Local, Food and Wine Tours, Wellness Tours & Beyond Blueprints, among other classic excursions.

For this week's Cruise Chat, Kathleen from Plenty of Sunshine Travel met with Aimee from Explora Journeys.

We chatted about this brand-new cruise line, and Aimee gave us an excellent overview of the restaurants, food, staterooms, itineraries, and onboard activities.
.
Chef Frank Garanger is the head of the Culinary on Explora Journeys.
Explora will have 10 different bars and lounges.
.
A special treat for you is the name of some of the restaurants! You heard it here FIRST!
.
The all-day dining space will be called The Emporium. It is going to have 18 different stations throughout this space.
.
There will be cooking stations, wine and cheese, carved meats, dessert areas, etc. Plenty of great options!
.
There is also going to be a concept restaurant. This will be a more intimate space. The maximum capacity is 60 guests. This restaurant will have visiting chefs. It will be a four-month rotation of different chefs and different menus.
.
The next restaurant is a Pan-Asian Restaurant. It will be called Sakura.
.
A steakhouse experience will also be onboard.
.
A Mediterranean Restaurant with delicious fresh flair food.
.
An international restaurant will be on Explora, with flavors worldwide. This will also rotate flavours, so it will not always be the same menu each time you cruise with Explora.
.
A coffee lounge will also be available, with little grab-and-go bites throughout the day.
.
If you enjoy eating by the pool, then the Poolside dining with modern light cruising and an ocean backdrop will be your go-to location to enjoy your meal.
.
A Chef's Kitchen-themed restaurant will feature the Chef's unique creations. The Chef will have free reign and create menus that speak to them.
.
With In-Suite dining can order from any of the menus from all of the onboard restaurant menus. You are not limited to a set small menu.
.

Explora has four ships being launched, each one year apart!

One of the great things that jumped out to me is how environmentally friendly Explora Journeys is from the start. They will ensure that the oceans and areas they visit are not damaged because of their presence.

We chatted about how Hurtigruten stands behind its promise of sustainable cruising. How the changes they have made may seem small, but they have a large impact on the environment.

The Hurtigruten Roald Amundsen ship is an entire Green Technology ship. They have made sure that this ship (and all of their ships) do not harm the areas they travel in.
.
One of their ships does not even use fuel! It is fully shore-powered! Hurtigruten was the first ship to eliminate all single-use plastics. . Hurtigruten makes a HUGE impact on the areas they visit. Kristin mentioned how they provided much-needed supplies to the area school. They also invited the school children to come on board to use their science center.
.
Travelling with Hurtigruten is an excellent way to make a positive difference in the world and the areas you visit.

We had a chat about Ama's brand new ship AmaMagna, the world's largest River Cruise Vessel! With suites ranging in size from 355 to 710 square feet. Four included restaurants, a rooftop heated pool, many lounges, and cinemas.
AmaWaterways has a beautiful itinerary called. "Seven River Journey Through Europe"
This Journey goes down the following rivers
Rhine,
Main-Danube,
Danube,
Rhone,
The Seine.
This itinerary will bring you to 11 countries.
AmaWaterways is very well known for its Wine Cruises, where you will sample local wine's at the wineries in the regions you are visiting as well as onboard your river cruise ship. You will have time with a sommelier, where you will learn about the wines and see the winery and sample them. Dinner will have wine pairings as well.
