They've been hailed, "One of the most intriguing new bands on the horizon," by The Daily Freeman and, "As contemporary as contemporary gets!" by the LA Music Awards so it's no surprise that NY-based Indie/Rock band have created quite a splash with their highly-anticipated, 2nd album (3rd release).

The band was funded completely by fans worldwide via crowd-sourcing website, Sellaband.com. Written by the violist/pianist, the record is, "Majestic and damn compelling!" says UK cult reviewer, Toxic Pete. It's "brilliant right from first play... clever and quite magnificent!!" Easy comparisons can be made to Metric, Paramore, Poe, Silversun Pickups, Evanescence, or Apocalyptica.

The band has been lucky to share the stage with Moby, Creed, Company of Thieves, Dredg, Meiko, & Hypernova to name a few. Capital Zen's members draw on their influences in funk, reggae, rock, punk, and jazz, bonding them at the molecular level to create a truly explosive sound that can only be described as Capital Zen. Live Zen is all about getting people up and moving. With Ryzuk's funky bass lines, Scoville's tight guitar licks, Hannay's color and harmony, and Wylie's drums as the anchor, Zen rocks every crowd they come across.

Conceived late in the summer of 2004 in Lake George NY, Zen originally played under the name 'Tree' with current members Scoville, Wylie, Ryzuk, and fourth member Jon McDowell, who was the lead singer and percussionist. Tree gained notoriety in Upstate New York for their ambient jams and psychedelic sound. When McDowell left the area in '06 the band shifted gears. The trio took the name "Capital Zen" and their music to the next level ever since. After a couple magical shows in the early months of '09 with Scott Hannay (who has also played onstage with jam-rock masters Umphrey's McGee) on keyboards the group knew the chemistry was complete.

Capital Zen has played a number of great venues all around the North East including Nectars, Revolution Hall, The Electric Company, Red Square, Northern Lights, Copperfields, The Monopole, Savannahs, The Black Oak, and General Clinton's. Capital Zen has also been thrilled to share the stage with many great acts, including Rustic Overtones, Beduin Soundclash, Into the Presence (feat. Tim Alexander from Primus), Positive Mental Trip, Consider the Source, Method of Productive Means, Citizen Red, Evil TV, and Lucid. Capital Zen hosted an Umphreys McGee after party in Boston and also spent this New Year's Eve playing with Lynch, which features members of Conehead Buddha and Moe. With the release of their second album coming this summer, Capital Zen is looking forward to continuing to spread their music to new audiences in '09.

Tern Rounders are about to release our debut album. A Different Land features the tightly locked vocal harmonies of Kim Noyes and Marc Clayton, who both play guitar; Roger Noyes shares multi-instrumentalist duties with Marc, who together fill out the album's ensemble textures on drums, percussion, bass, keyboards, lead guitar, harmonica and banjo.

Since the start of recording in February, the trio - which formed in November 2008 - has recently been joined by drummer Jim Ketterer and bassist Harry Strole who complete the Tern Rounders sound and have become critical partners as the band focuses on creating new music.

When lead singer/ songwriter Matt Krahula's previous band, Fire Flies, decided to part ways, he decided to steel his favorite musicians from other popular NYC bands. He quickly recruited Seth Faulk, the drummer he had worked with in Fire Flies, and they started to piece together the rest of the band. (In Fire Flies, Seth and Matt had scored a top 40 hit in Germany, won first place out of 6,000 bands in an international battle of the bands, and opened for Pink!, Gogol Bordello, Ingrid Michaelson, Mika, Regina Spektor, Langhorne Slim, Kimya Dawson, Robyn Hitchcock, Mondo Daio. They also had several media placements including a commercial for HBO/ Time Warner Cable, a spot in the new SIMS video game, and the theme song to FX's TV show, Fire House.)

Seth and Matt soon enlisted Kris Hayes, guitarist from NYC alt-country band, The Designated Drivers. With a thumbs up from Kris Hayes they decided that "Tall" Andy Tekverk was the perfect match for this ragged group. Andy had spent the past few years in the NYC band, The Freams (formerly known as The Kelly Project). The Freams have shared the stage with legends such as James Brown, as well as George Clinton and The P Funk Allstars.
