This week I'm taking a look at some cryptids from folklore and mythology! Some of these are clear and known hoaxes, but have wiggled their way into pop culture. The Jackalope and Hodag come to mind, as well as the lesser-known Jenny Haniver. Others are bizarre creatures from our past, seen frequently back in the day, but largely forgotten now. The Squonk and the Snallygaster, despite their funny names, are amongst America's fearsome critters of lore. The puckwudgie, dating back to early Native Americal legends, is still reportedly seen today in the Northeast. Do you have a favorite mythologica cryptid, whether from rogue taxidermy to folklore and legend? Let us know in the comments below!
