When setting goals, you have to be clear about what result you want. If not, you will end up losing motivation and steam, and try to do all the things at once and burn out. Ultimately not reaching your goal.
You need to create a clear vision on what you want and be able to break it down into manageable, bite-sized, doable steps. This way you create a clear path and direction to go in and you create habits and start planning for obstacles.
Sometimes we let the self-doubt, negative self-talk, fear of failure, or overwhelm paralyze in a way that we don't even start trying to reach our goals. Sometimes we create an unrealistic timeline for ourselves and put so much pressure on ourselves that when we don't reach a certain goal in "time" we feel shame and disappointment, then we stop trying or change direction.
Next time you want a different result, get clear on what your needs are, what you want to accomplish, and create a realistic timeline for yourself. After all, you can always shift or change your goals, non are set in stone!

The reason why affirmations may not work for you is because you don’t believe in the possibility of them to be true for you.
You may want to “feel confident” To “feel happy” to “feel beautiful” to “feel a sense of purpose” to “feel secure” but simply repeating them over and over again isn’t going to change your results.
Affirmations may not have an impact because of your lack of belief due to doubt or discomfort. Your negative self-talk is persistent. Unrealistic expectations can lead to inconsistency, which then creates a lack of action and emotional connection.
You have to develop some self-awareness and openness for affirmations to work. You need to combine possibility, belief, self-trust, and action to create alignment with the affirmations.
I can help you with that!

The stories we tell ourselves are equivalent to the narratives that shape our perceptions, beliefs, and our realities. These stories are not merely idle thoughts but powerful constructs that influence how we interpret events, make decisions, and navigate the world around us. They often stem from a combination of past experiences, societal influences, and internalized beliefs.
Our inner dialogue, or self-talk, plays a crucial role in crafting these stories. Whether positive or negative, our self-talk can reinforce or challenge the narratives we construct about ourselves, others, and the world. For example, someone who tells themselves they are capable, worthy, and deserving of success is more likely to approach challenges with confidence and resilience, while someone who internalizes negative self-talk may struggle with self-doubt and limitations.
The stories we tell ourselves also have a profound impact on our emotions and well-being. Positive narratives can inspire hope, motivation, and a sense of empowerment, while negative narratives can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, and self-sabotage. Recognizing the power of our inner stories allows us to cultivate greater self-awareness and agency in shaping our lives.
Ultimately, by becoming more conscious of the stories we tell ourselves, we can actively choose to rewrite and reframe them in ways that empower us to create the lives we desire. In order to achieve the life we want to live, we have to first believe in the possibility that we can achieve the life we want, but also believe in ourselves.

Someone asked me the other day how did I start loving myself?
This week I talk more about my story and things I had to learn to let go of and what changes impacted me the most.
The best thing I ever did for myself was invest in myself and apply a lot of different life coaching techniques that really helped shape who I am today. The biggest benefit of that is learning how to love myself because I did the inner work, and I stopped reaching for external things to fill certain voids in my life.
As always, feel free to reach out to me over on Instagram or TikTok!

Norman Vincent Peale wrote, "The Power of Positive Thinking," where he talks about the Self-Fulfilling Prophecy. This means the outcome we expect to happen, happens because our energy matches our thoughts.
Dr. Joe Dispenza talks about the energy force field we have and we create with our thoughts. Our brains and body like to be in sync. So when you don't feel like doing something or you keep telling yourself that you can't do something, guess what? You end up not doing that thing. You are fulfilling your own prophecy, and your energy matches your thought wavelengths.
This episode breaks down what a fixed mindset is and what a growth mindset is, and how to plan ahead of time so you can then feel empowered and start doing the things you want to do in your life.

Being in a rut can look different for everyone. Usually when I am in a rut it is because I am avoiding something, resisting, and kind of just aimlessly wandering. Going in a different directions, not accomplishing anything, and not clear on what I want.
When I am in a rut I mentally and emotionally check out. What helps me the most get out of a rut is taking action. Doing something - whether that is going to a park and taking a walk, visiting my favorite book store or tea shop, calling a friend, cleaning just one room in my house. Getting up, stopping the overconsumption of social media, and doing something.
When I'm doing things, the creativity juices start flowing, and then I get excited and motivated about working on this thing or doing that thing. Which leads me to creating more rather than consuming more. Then I get clear on what I want and understand where I'm going.
So if you feel like you are aimlessly wandering around or feel like you are in a rut - neither sad or happy - then check this episode out! And let me know how you get out of ruts.

Why is it that we are so hard on ourselves sometimes?
I think it’s because we accept the negative thought as he truth versus challenging it and getting curious as to why we are thinking this thought about ourselves.
My daughter had a bad gymnastics practice this week and it made her upset and frustrated with herself.
And I was like, “Girl, I’ve been there.” So we talked about it that night and went through why she felt that way and was it actually a bad practice.
I was letting her know that you can try on a different thought when you are feeling frustrated or not good enough in practice the next time.
One way is to add “yet” to the end of a sentence.
- “I can’t land this move.” Versus “I can’t land this move yet.”
The first stops any curiosity and further evaluation of the situation. The latter opens you up to receiving feedback and receiving understanding as to why you haven’t landed this move yet. What can you do the next time you try this move? Maybe position your hands differently. Rotate your body earlier. Push from your shoulders more.
Our brains like to answer questions. When we open ourselves up with adding “yet” to the end of a thought - our brains get to work to create a solution to a problem.
It’s a simple trick, but effective.
The next time you feel down about your performance in someway, get curious as to why you are thinking this.
Why are you talking to yourself this way? Why are you treating yourself like this? Do you like treating yourself like this? If not, how do you want to treat yourself?
