The conception of last song and how long it took Theo to write it
The idea for the striking The Last Song music video and how that came about
How long the shoot for the music video was and how hard it was to continue giving the same level of performance over the course of the day
Theo's team and what it is they bring to the table
    His small-town Alberta boy roots
Memories are performing Serena Ryder's Weak In The Knees on Canadian Idol
Theo Tam's favourite performance during the course of the contest
    * Bryan Adams as a mentor and how much Theo appreciated him
    * The work that is required to make it in the music industry even after being an Idol winner

You get all this and much much more on the show, plus it wraps up with Theo performing a live version of Jann Arden's Good Mother for us.  This is the song he performed to win Canadian Idol and his haunting performance from his home piano will give you chills.  We look forward to your feedback, we're sure you're going to absolutely love this episode. And thanks to Theo Tams for being such a good sport.

  • WTMusic: Axel Rudi Pell on Sign of the Times
Axel Rudi Pell has back on the we talk music podcast for his second shot as he tells us about his new album Sign of the Times.

This is a quick snack episode as we only had Axel for a short period of time. That said there's an awful lot packed into the show. Axel Rudi Pell is a straightforward, no-nonsense kind of guy who will give you an answer quickly and deliberately.. But don't let this fool you into thinking he doesn't have a sly sense of humour. This podcast features plenty of laughs and interesting quotes, plus a ton of great info about Sign of the Times.

We're already looking forward to the next time we can get Axel Rudi Pell back on the show for another terrific chat. Enjoy.

  • WTMusic: Maik – Heaven Shall Burn, The Wall Will Fall
Maik from Heaven Shall Burn joins the We Talk Music podcast for something just a little bit different than the usual show.

Heaven shall burn is one of Germany's most successful extreme metal bands. Previous albums from the band have been feature deathcore, metalcore, and melodic death metal. Their latest album, is titled Of Truth and Sacrifice. On it, they mix all their other influences with those previous sounds. This adds traditional heavy metal, hard rock, nu-metal, power metal. and many more into the mix.

This episode features lots of talk on this latest Heaven Shall burn album. We discuss it’s songs, recording and composition. But the Crux of this interview goes in a whole other direction that is truly fascinating.

Heaven shall burn is one of the most politically charged bands in the world. On the show we delve deep into Maik's political history and where it began. This leads to a strong discussion on his life in East Germany. As a a teenager when the Berlin Wall came down in he discusses it's effect on himself and others on that side of the wall. It's amazing to hear him discuss one of the most important historical events of the 20th Century, and the after effects.

A great talk with Maik from Heaven Shall Burn.

It's an incredible history lesson on a fascinating time told from a musical perspective, and is not to be missed. Make sure and check it out.
