  • WTMusic: From Pete RG to Sons of Silver
I bet you're wondering to yourself, does the fun ever stop on the We Talk Music podcast? The answer is simply no. Not when you have guests like Peter Argyropoulos stopping to chat about Sons of Silver.

Know for his time as Pete RG with that self named band, Peter Argyropoulos has morphed into being the lead singer now for the his new band Sons of Silver. Peter shares with us exactly how this happened and highlights the differences between the two bands.

From there the talk breaks into a wide variety of topics. From writing as a group instead of solo, to the groove the band has in songs like World of Fire, to the bond the group has formed Peter tells all.

There's much more on the show though. Peter Argyropoulos breaks down on the members and highlights the contributions of Dave Krusen, known well for his time as Pearl Jam's first drummer. Peter also has lots of thoughts on the musical climate. You can learn about this as he talks working on an EP, how music is consumed and listened to, and his thoughts on releasing singles. This is a fun and interesting discussion, and includes him telling a story of how he and his wife / keyboardist Brina Kabler can have disagreements about what they listen to in the house.

This is your usual We Talk Music episode, in that it's awesome. But it's unusual in that it's Peter Argyropoulos first visit on the show, so you'll want to check it out.

  • WTMusic: Heading Down The Road With Mike Tramp
It's bucket list time for your We Talk Music hosts Brett and Mo as they welcome one of their favorites to the show, Mike Tramp.

Now a prolific solo artist, Mike Tramp is well known also as the former lead singer of White Lion and Freak Of Nature. His latest album is titled Second Time Around. It's a collection of newly reworked older recordings, this time done just as Mike Tramp wants them.

Mike Tramp is on the We Talk Music podcast.

Mike is a very open, honest and intelligent interview, and that's reflected in his music. His current output falls into the Americana / Heartland rock genre. With personal lyrics and important messages, it also still manages to rock.

We dig deep into the album and also where Mike is in his life and career, both working on a farm and playing music. His thoughts on what inspires him and how important music is to him is fascinating. He's truly lived a life, traveled the globe, met inspiring and unique people, and found his inner peace.

So join us on this journey with Mike Tramp. His new album may be called Second Time Around, but our hope is this is just his first visit with WTM.

  • WTMusic: Learning From Dennis DeYoung
You know him. Lady. Show Me The Way. Come Sail Away. Mr Roboto, Babe. Yeah, you know, that guy!. It's Dennis DeYoung, singer from the legendary band Styx!

Dennis has a new album out called 26 East: Volume 1 and he wants you to check it out. But he also wants you to hear a personal message from him about treating yourself and others right.

You may not know just how funny and passionate Dennis DeYoung is, but you will after you listen to this album. His wonderful sarcastic wit is on display both in the interview and on the 26 East: Volume 1 album, as songs like "With All Due Respect so poignantly display.

The story of how the album came together and the role that Dennis's friend Jim Peterik (Survivor, The Ides of March ) had in it coming together is great, as is how they chose the songs that make up the album. The story of working with Julian Lennon on the album is, of course, great too.

And what an album it is.

If you are a fan of the classic Styx sound, and who isn't, then 26 East: Volume 1 delivers in spades. But as we said, Dennis DeYoung has a lot to say to you, and the album is just a part of it. He wants you to cancel out all the white noise in society, and listen and respect each other. It's a powerful message that resonates at any time, but especially right now with what the world is going through.

So sit back and give a listen. Expect to laugh often and maybe think about some things differently, and then pre-order 26 East: Volume 1. After all, when that record and the already recorded 26 East: Volume 2 are out Dennis says he's done, and there will be no ,more music from him.

We can only hope he's wrong.

  • WTMusic: The Awe Inspiring Mike LePond
There is absolutely no argument. Mike LePond is one of the best and most highly regarded bassists on planet Earth, period. His newest project is called DeadRisen with guitarist Rod Rivera (Rivera/Bomma), and the self titled debut album is available now.

Best known for his time with prog metal pioneers Symphony X since the year 2000, Mike LePond has also cut his teeth with the bands Affector, Dead on Arrival, and also currently plays with The Ross The Boss Band. As well, Mike released a solo album in 2014 titled Silent Assassins.

Surprisingly soft spoken for a man who plays with some loudest and heaviest rock acts in the world, the humble Mike LePond loves to talk about music, and specifically his instrument the bass. It's a real treat to get to dig into the techniques and styles he uses. It makes you truly appreciate just why he is as as respected as he is, and your WTM hosts Brett and Mo didn't miss any opportunity to dig deep with Mike on it.

But don't worry, the guys didn't forget to talk in depth about the DeadRisen album either. From the unique flamenco guitar found on the metal album, to the formation of the band, to the contribution of young band mates Will Shaw and Dan Prestup, there's lots of good stuff here.

And if you have any interest in the role of a rhythm section in a band, and why Tom Hamilton and Erik Kramer are so effective for Aerosmith, then We Talk Music has you covered. Plus Mike shares thoughts and stories about Ross The Boss, and why he is just so awesome and such a genuine person.
