  • Mike Mostert & The GoGo Tuner Family
We Talk Music has another fantastic episode for you as we chat with Mike Mostert about his GoGo Tuner Family project.

Mike is an accomplished guitarist who cut his teeth playing hard rock with bands such as Bigg Mouth. He would later go on to found the The GoGo Tuner and sell such products as The GoGo Caliber Pedal Tuner to musicians around the world.

As Mike explains in the show when he was asked if he still had any desire to play it lit a fire under him. This led to him getting in touch with musicians using his product to create a unique complication album.

A mix of many different musical genres, and recorded at the legendary Muscle Shores Studio, we learn the thinking behind all the songs on the GoGo Tuner Family album.

There's lots to dig into on how and why this album was put together, and Mike Mostert is a fascinating storyteller, which is why what he shared right at the end is so much extra fun.

In his time in the music industry he met and hung out with a bunch of amazing stars, such as Lemmy Kilmister. That's right, a Lemmy story! And has there ever been a bad one of those?

So a t back and absorb all of this great conversation, there's no way you should miss it.

  • WTMusic: Kelsi Mayne – #MayneTrain
Just how cool is it to get to talk to an emerging superstar on the verge of a great career like Windsor, Ontario's Kelsi Mayne?

A small town Canadian girl with world class talent, Kelsi represents the mix of dedication and ability it takes to make it in the music industry.

She joins the We Talk Music to talk about her journey and how it's lead up to the soon to be released full length album "As I Go".

And what a journey it's been.

From her early on stage experiences as a dancer to her years running track competitively to her 3rd place finish in SiriusXM's Top of the Country contest, Kelsi Mayne has been collecting the type of valuable life experiences it takes to be a force in the industry.

Kelsi tells us all about her roots listening to music from Detroit growing up and how great it is that modern country music allows her to explore all types of genres. We also get great insight into how and why she travels to Nashville and her learning from the great songwriters down there.

And we also get a great story about the TikTok explosion that clips from the title track from her album, "As I Go" has generated.

The most impressive thing about Kelsi Mayne though just might be her humble attitude and appreciation for her fans and their support. It's this type of attitude that impressed us the most and has WTM hosts Brett and Mo sure Kelsi Mayne is going straight to the top, so listen to the show and help spread the word.

  • WTMusic: Ilan Rubin Returns to WTM
Ilan Rubin is back on the We Talk Music podcast talking about his epic release Heart, Mind, Body and Soul.

Ilan originally visited the show back in September for an episode titled New Regime, New Ideas. Talking to host Brett about the Heart EP, they discussed that release plans he had for The New Regime in the future. Now that all the EP's are out and the whole album is available Ilan Rubin returns this time to go one on one with WTM's other host Mo.

Ilan Rubin The New Regime Heart Mind Body and Soul.

Ilan is an incredibly cerebral musician. A master of multiple instruments and excellent singer, The New Regime is his project, done his way.

In this chat with Mo we go heavy into the psychology behind the sequencing of the album. You won't believe the incredible amount of thought that went into getting that just right to be the maximum listening experience. The chat also veers in song arrangements and what it is that makes Mo's favorite track Sweet Kind of Suffering so unique.

There's also an interesting chat on why it's been so long since an album by The New Regime, and why it won't ever be that long again. Of course with the pandemic hitting the world how that effects his schedule is a topic, as is his philosophy for live events and recreating the studio sound.

This is definitely a terrific episode for aspiring musicians. The thoughtful words of Ilan Rubin carry much wisdom despite his still young age, and we're sure it's one you'll want to check out.
