In the year ending March 2019, an estimated 2.4 million adults aged 16 to 74 years experienced domestic abuse in the last year, of those 1.6 million were women and 786,000 men. This week we talk to Lori, a domestic abuse support worker, about her experience working with the survivors and victims of both genders and the gender balance amongst support workers. We recognise that this is a sensitive topic, for more information on domestic violence in the UK, you can visit www.nationaldahelpline.org.uk. If you, or someone you know is suffering from domestic abuse, you can get help from the National Domestic Abuse Helpline which is available 24hrs on 0808 2000 247, search Gov.uk for your local Domestic Abuse service.
