Ritual Talk is a five-piece band, whose music can be most closely described as lyrically-driven folk/indie rock, but their music is so ever-flowing and changing that our description may be an understatement. Featuring vibrant performances, Alex DeSimine, Alex Tremitiere, Tom Criblez, Dylan Gleit, and TJ Alcala discuss inspiration, politics, and much more with Joel.

Watergh0st is a songwriter, composer, producer with a thoughtfully artistic and critical outlook on the music scene. With a distaste towards with the term “experimental,” she joins us live with a guitar and some songs to speak about her music and personal life.

Mike is the guitarist and singer of the Brooklyn punk band Samantha. He also brought his friends from Queen with a Megaphone to talk about the music scene, corporatism, and the meaning of “punk.”

Changetree is the solo project of Ian Wexelbaum. Ian is psychedelic rock guitarist, who came to talk about his personal life, music, and his band Basement Sounds. With an open heart and open mind, he too joins us live in the new year.

Daniel Barbrack, from the former local band Kinsey Scale, now a student at Berklee School of music, talks about is past bands and current solo project. Kenzo, Van, Amir, Levitt are the members of the “space-rock” band Nautics, who came by to play some songs and talk about their influences.

Sharif Mekawy is the lead singer, guitarist, and keyboardist of the New York/New Jersey band Looms. A fusion of different genres, Looms combines melodic instrumentalist with dreamy lyrics, and Sharif does the same in this edition of Culture Crunch.

Tobias is a producer and instrumentalist. He recently played a DJ set at a Standing Rock benefit concert at Columbia University, and now joins us live in the studio.

Originally from Ukraine, Boris is a classically trained woodwind instrumentalist. His main instrument is clarinet, and he performs at concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as Broadway shows and jazz clubs.

Rachel has an upbeat, warm, and go-getter attitude to life and her music. Originally a drummer, she studied jazz at Bard College and now joins us to talk about her recent album, Detach.
