It's time for the Culture Popped March Madness Tournament. This year we have superheroes going up against each other to determine who is the strongest superhero of all. Marvel's greatest heroes will go up against one another, DC's greatest heroes will go up against one another and the best hero from each universe will meet in the finals. And unlike all other March Madness tournaments, we're doing ours properly. In one day instead of spread out over a month. Who will be deemed the winner? The Hulk? Batman? Wolverine? Superman? Hawkeye? Wonder Woman? Squirrel Girl? Someone else? Only one way to find out!

The time has finally come. Zack Snyder's Justice League is now upon us, all 4 hours of it in all of it's 4:3 glory. Is it the masterpiece that all the fanboys thought it would be or is it the abomination that all the haters thought it would be? Turns out it's neither, but it is pretty good, maybe? We give on our thoughts on what we liked, what we didn't like and whether we even know what quality of movie we watched.

We've made it to 50 episodes!!! This is officially a middle aged podcast. To celebrate the big occasion, we're ranking every single Liam Neeson action movie. They've taken his family, they've framed him for crimes, they've stolen his identity and it never ends well for them. Mr. Neeson has used his particular set of skills to teach bad guys a lesson for 13 movies and now we're using our particular set of skills to decide where each movie ranks and whether or not he's supposed to be American in any of them.

WandaVision came to end this week. We'll be discussing the series and giving our thoughts on the finale and what it could mean for the future of the MCU. We're also giving our thoughts on the new Alan Tudyk show, Resident Alien. There's also lots of exciting and not so exciting news to go over such as six new PSVR games being announced, Superman & Lois getting renewed for a second season after just one episode, a new Aliens video game being announced, Lola Bunny no longer being sexy in the new Space Jam, a SpongeBob spinoff being announced and so much more. The one thing we don't talk about this episode is the Golden Globes because honestly it was a pretty bland show and we forgot it even happened until just now while typing this episode description.

This past week gave us not just one, not two but three huge gaming presentations. We had Blizzcon, we had a State of Play and we had a Pokémon Presentation. We're giving our thoughts on all three of these events and every single thing that was announced. There was good, there was bad, and there was worse. You can probably already tell out thoughts on one of the events by the title of this episode but the only way to find out our thoughts on the other two is to listen. Nintendo had their first full Direct since 2019 and we're coming at you with all of the announcements and what we thought of each game shown. From Zelda and Mario Golf all the way to DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power, there was a wide variety of game types shown and we're telling you which ones we're excited for and which ones we don't care about. As always there's news of the week being discussed such as the trailer for the Snyder Cut of Justice League, Avengers getting a next-gen upgrade, Xbox giving backwards compatible games a huge FPS boost and more. So sit back, listen up and always remember, we live in a society. 

In honor of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury releasing for Nintendo Switch, we have decided to give ourselves the impossible task of ranking every mainline Super Mario game. This is a definitive ranking which means whatever we say is written into law and must be the Mario ranking that everyone abide by others you will face absolutely zero consequences. In addition to the Mario games we're also going over some of the pop culture events of the week. The Borderlands movie has cast two more characters, Gina Carano gets fired from The Mandalorian, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has a release date, Crash 4 is coming to Switch, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is ending and more. Finally, we have more to say about the Alexa Bliss/Royal Rumble controversy.

It's the super sized season 2 premiere of Culture Popped. With a new season comes a complete overhaul of the podcast and by complete overhaul we mean that now we have sound effects that we can overuse. This week, in honor of the Godzilla vs Kong trailer rocking our world a couple weeks ago, we're going over other famous crossover battles from pop culture history. Godzilla vs Kong aren't the first characters to crossover and fight each other (although they might actually be the first ones) and we're telling you all about these knockdown, drag out battles. Even the bad ones. We also have not one but two video game reviews, that's right double review. We have a review of The Medium and a review of Destruction All-Stars. And finally we go over all the pop culture news of the week like Gearbox being purchased, No Time to Die undergoing reshoots, MLB The Show no longer being a PlayStation exclusive, we go over the Golden Globe nominations and give our thoughts and we also address the Royal Rumble controversy regarding Alexa Bliss. 

We have our first ever interview this week! Billions of people applied to be the very first guest but there was only one winner. A man named Buck Buckford*, who runs Little Pricks Tattoo Parlor for Children in Pensacola, Florida. Before we get to the interview though, we have a lot of news of the week to cover. Some more game and movie delays, including James Bond being given a little more time to die, Star Wars games being given a new banner to be published under, including the announcement of an open world Star Wars game the the developers of The Division, MachineGames making an Indiana Jones game, Chris Evans possibly returning to MCU and more.
