This week's episode is another Random Chit Chat edition of the podcast. That's where we chat about random things because we don't have topic. First up is some discussion of the news of the week such as Outriders being delayed until April 1st, Roku buying Quibi's content library for some reason and we have some thoughts on the Monster Hunter Rise demo that's now available on Nintendo Switch. We also have some brief discussions about Gears of War 5, Assassin's Creed and Destiny 2 before we reveal to you all what Joe Biden's Top 10 Favorite Video Games of All Time are. Not many people know that he's a huge gamer with a very eclectic list of his absolute favorites. This is 100% accurate and truthful, we did not make this up, this comes from the most official and classified sources so you can't fact check it but just trust us that it's real. It's time for the very first Bishop Awards. We're celebrating the very best pop culture that we've experienced this past year. Join us as we give awards to what we thought were the best games that we played, and the best movies and tv shows we watched. We were spoiled with quality entertainment and now we're spoiling the entertainment right back with the most prestigious awards in the entire independent Canadian podcast industry.  Find out what we thought was Game of the Year, what the Best Television Series was, what the Best Film was, who we thought gave the best performances in all mediums and much more.

So if you're having trouble deciding what games to buy people for Christmas, we have some suggestions for great games to give someone or yourself as a gift. In addition to all the festivities, it was a packed news week so we're also giving lots of hot takes. The launch of cyberpunk has run into more problems as Sony has pulled it from the store completely after a terrible refund process, even more Spider-Man 3 rumors, Boba Fett is getting his own spin-off, Tom Cruise goes full Les Grossman on crew members breaking Covid protocol on the Mission Impossible 7 set and so much more. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and most importantly, HAPPY FESTIVUS!!! 

Thanks to The Game Awards being on the exact same day as Disney Investor Day, this is the longest episode of the podcast ever. Disney spent an entire day announcing dozens of projects from all their brands. We have an overload of Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar and other stuff to go over. We're getting new movies and a plethora of new content on Disney Plus. That's not even mentioning the adult stuff from Disney owned brands like Fox and Hulu. Then we had The Game Awards. The so-called Oscars of gaming took place and gave us a show of new video game announcements with some awards mixed in. We're going over all the winners, all the new games announced and why the show was a failure as an awards show that is supposed to be taken seriously.  And to top off the busiest pop culture week of the year, we still have some hot takes for some other news stories of the week. Some new Spider-Man 3 reports involving Doc Ock and the potential return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Cyberpunk 2077 came out and it's performance on PS4 & Xbox One is abysmal (just like we said it would be), the Scott Pilgrim game re-release has been delayed, a Republican senator wants to make getting a DMCA strike a felony and so much more. We promise we'll never make an episode this long again but we couldn't help it. Everything happened all in the same week.

This week we're going over the 10 games we're most looking forward to in 2021. There next gen of consoles is here and off to a great start but it's only just getting started. There's so many exciting games getting released in the coming year and we are absolute excited to experience them. These are the top 10 games that we're excited for the most. We absolutely cannot wait to get our hands on these games and play them. 2021 can't get here quick enough. We also go over some big news developments that happen this week. Warner Bros. announced that all of it's 2021 films will release simultaneously in theaters and HBO Max. This is a huge development for the future of the film industry, especially if they continue this release strategy even after theaters re-open. Photos from the set of the Hawkeye Disney+ series give us our first look at Kate Bishop and hint at comic book storyline coming to life. Oscar Isaac is going play Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid movie and Sting debuts in AEW. All this and more!

This week we're doing something different. We are casting all the characters of a hypothetical live action Super Mario movie. If we were in charge and had an unlimited budget to cast whoever we wanted, this is who would star in our Mario universe. You may not like it but you also may love it so much you beg Nintendo to make this movie instead of the animated one that they're actually making. We also got some news to discuss as well. The design of Clifford in the live action Clifford the Big Red Dog movie sparks outrage and we give our thoughts on it, AOC streams again and a very big rumored sighting on the set of Spider-Man 3 gets us very, very excited. So sit back, relax and get ready for your culture to be popped.

Today we are directing our attention towards the people complaining that Destiny 2 Beyond Light expansion and it's accompanying season don't have enough content. We discuss what we think of the discourse surrounding the game and why we think those people are wrong. We're also going over the nominees for this years Game Awards and giving our thoughts on who should win, who we want to win and who got snubbed. Other things that happened this week include the announcment that Hitman developer IO Interactive is making a James Bond video game, Wonder Woman 84 is coming to HBO Max, Avengers is finally getting some new content and you can now pay to become a Twitch Affiliate without gaining any followers. We go over all of this and more. 

The 8th Generation of video games is officially over and the 9th generation has began. What better way to say goodbye to 8th gen than by determining the ten games that defined it. These are the games that we feel will be discussed decades into the future when historians are talking about the 8th gen. When video game history is added to school curriculums, these are the games that will be listed in the chapter about 8th gen. Or maybe not, what do we know. We also give some first impressions of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. There's also lots of pop culture news for an exciting edition of Hot Takes with Extra Syrup. An AEW video game was announced, Chris Pratt joins the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder, Mass Effect Legendary Edition was announced bringing the original trilogy to modern console and Insomniac adds the ability to transfer your Spider-Man PS4 save to Spider-Man Remastered.

This week we'll be listing off our top 10 worst video games of 8th gen. These are the ten games that we hated the most over the course of this gen. Whether or not they were well received games or not, we did not enjoy these. Feel free to agree or disagree to our subjective thoughts. We're sure that some of these will really piss you off. So sit back and get prepared for us to trash a game you probably love because we're different people with different personal taste.
