  • 030 | Something's Off - Now What?

So, something has been off the last few days and I want to dig deep with you. With everything going on in the world, with family, kiddos, safety, money, relationship, racial injustice... the energy overall can feel heavy.

    Anyone else feeling this?

Just to be clear, I want to let you know that whatever you're feeling is perfect. Whether that's good or bad, your feelings are trying to tell you something, to make you become aware, to wake you up. Stop with the negative self-talk. Your feelings are just a part of your human experience. They do not define you!

If you need to shake things up, here's what I do. I pray it's helpful for you!

    1. Journaling - write it out! Let yourself free flow write, without editing. Let whatever emotions arise come out on paper. Don't hide any pain, any sadness, any anxiousness. Getting it out let's you release whatever you're holding on to! You'll be surprised how healing this can be! (Look up prompts, set a timer, ask yourself a question).

    2. Get outside. Get in nature! - Connecting with nature is grounding for you. Seriously, it will help you get back into alignment and your energies may be off. When you are outside, especially barefoot, you pull negative energies from the ground to

    3. Movement - Just move your body! Go for a walk, go for a run, dance, yoga, shake it off! Bonus...this is healhty too. 🥰

    4. Talk it out! - Speak with a therapist, or a close friend or family member who can hold space for you. It helps me to verbally process because sometimes I don't even know how I'm feeling until the words start falling out of my mouth.

    5. Jam your favorite songs! - I sing my heart out to my favorite songs and playlists when I'm in the feelings and I instantly feel better! Dance it out even! Talk about an energy booster.

    6. Distract Yourself - Feel what you're feeling. Forgive yourself for those negative feelings & get into action. Work on your side hustle, wrap up that project that you've been putting off. Be cautious to avoid the feelings...just distract yourself enough to alter your mood for the positive.

    7. Rest - Listen to your body. Listen to your feelings. And just take a moment to chill the F out!! 💛

Bonus: Meditation + Breath Work can help, but is harder when I'm in the thick of emotions. I will usually do this once my emotions have leveled out.

Be sure to share any other ideas that help you get out of a funk over here - @thechelseaholden

Also, be sure to leave a review on iTunes to help me be discoverable for others who need this message as well. ✌🏼

    Big Love 💛

  • 029 | Multi-Passionate Pivoting with Gina of Raxon Leigh Photography

Gina Collins is such a ray of sunshine and I always love having her on the show.

In this episode, we talk all about following our passions even when that means taking a different direction n our careers.

With this new business venture, I was able to see first hand how she's been able to truly share her creativity and bringing forth her subject's true essence. She is truly coming from a place of love and creation by doing what she loves! Talk about inspiring!!!

She sheds light on being a multi-passionate entrepreneur and pivoting along the way.  She states, "It feels like a lot of people get kind of stuck in a business mindset. They start with a passion. They start with a purpose, and then they feel like they have to stick with that even if they are led to different avenues."

We go on to discuss that even though we are passionate about different things, we may not be filling our cups in other areas of our life. How something can be more of a burden, something we have to do, as opposed to something we GET to do. How there may be days when we don't feel like showing up. The great reminder is that we have an inner power to create an impact on the world and this episode taps into all of the goodness!

  • 028 | Adventure Awakens Your Soul

When was the last time you lived fully in the moment?

Have you ever taken a trip with only one destination in mind…the journey of FUN!

Adventure awakens your soul. More than you will ever know. It connects you with nature if you get out the way we do. Being on an epic trip, riding in a car…seeing the sights…new places, small town squares and smiling faces!!! Oh man….just typing this now I am ready to get back out.

There is something so life-giving about seeing things for the first time! But you don't need a trip to do that. You can just take a different way home. Walk a different trail. Listen to a different band. Try those new menu items! Adventure can look like many different things, and all you have to do is be willing to take that risk for change.

I've said it before…I love to change. It's how I know I'm growing. Most people think of change as a negative…but most people have it all wrong. Change is growth! Change is how we stretch and learn and pivot and adapt and align!

Be sure to follow along on my #alcoholfree journey and adventures over on Instagram at @thechelseaholden ✌🏼.

Shoot me a DM if you're #sobercurious and ready for a NEW Adventure of your own. 🧡

  • 027 | Tap Into Your Inner Child to Create

Have you heard the saying, "Create before you Consume"?

I wanted to take a minute to share my take on this concept and why I feel like tapping into your Inner Child can help bring out your true creative essence! I share the story of playing dress-up as a little girl in my grandmother's clothing. This has carried over to my adult life, and in fact, some of my most favorite memories are dressing up and having FUN with friends at music festivals.

When we think back to a who we were as little kids when we were fearless, and adventurous, and not afraid to truly BE...this was us living in our purest form.

What did you like to do as a kiddo? Did you play in the dirt? Did you fun for fun? Pick flowers? Sing? Dance? Play dress-up like me? Were you the one who always put on performances for your family?

We are all born creative, and the amazing news is that energy, that little girl (or boy) is STILL inside of you!!! All you have to do is think back to what you did as a kid that made you happy and feel like yourself and then recreate those moments now. And as a child we are FEARLESS, we are full of LIFE, we find things that bring us pure JOY!

Create before you Consume. Do something for yourself FIRST before you consume. Do something your inner child would love to do, to create something beautiful before you have to do something (consume), or be someone else for someone else!

  • 026 | Part 2: Ronnie's Perspective on My One Year No Alcohol Journey

So many firsts on this episode!

It's the first two-part series, this episode being Part 2! The first time interviewing my husband! The first male I've had on the show!

Last week I talked all about this last year's journey without alcohol and the changes and growth that has come along with it...but I couldn't stop there. I wanted to give you an inside look from the eyes of nonother than my best friend, my rock, my confidant, and husband...Ronnie Holden!

Ronnie has been an inspiration in my life in more ways than one. He's the reason I went to college and graduated, the reason I've pushed past my comfort zone and done so well in real estate, and the other half of my motivation to continue to be my best self!

That's not to say that this past year has been easy and that giving up alcohol and doing this journey alone has been rainbows and butterflies because it's definitely been trying at times. But I couldn't do it without his loving support and I can't wait for you to hear from him.

I polled you, my audience, to get awesome questions and hear his perspective. There is so much goodness wrapped in this show and I can't wait for you to hear!!! So let's get into it, shall we?!

And if you'd like to connect with Ronnie and ask him anything we might have missed, you can find him hanging out on Facebook here!

  • 023 | Fill Your Life With Love

In today's episode, I am sharing about a few things I love, and why I feel it's soooo important to surround ourselves with loving energy.

I also get into the Podcast's recent name change from Chasing Curiosity with Chels to Cuppa Chels. ✌🏼

I discuss the new book, Rebel's Apothecary by Jenny Sansouci, which is totally piquing my curiosity because it taps into the health benefits of medicinal mushrooms and cannabis. If you haven't heard of this book....do yourself a favor and be sure to get a copy!

Also, I talk about how I create a loving feeling throughout my home and through my practices. These include decorating, books, journaling, oracle cards, meditation, gratitude and keeping my promise of no alcohol. *You can hear more about my no alcohol journey on episode #15 - Why I Don't Drink Anymore.

Filling your life with love starts with a choice to fill your cup first. Choose to see the good.

  • 022 | Naturopathic Wellness and Women's Health with Dr. Jen Hardie

Listen in on my amazing and enlightening conversation with Dr. Jen Hardie of Ontario, Canada.

Dr. Jen practices naturopathic medicine, which is a holistic way to approach treating her patients and finding the root cause as opposed to treating just the symptoms. While conventional medicine has its place in the world, Dr. Jen believes in digging deep and developing relationships with her patients.

She is a big proponent for women's health and we dive deep into how our bodies operate during our menstrual cycle. She states, "As women, we don't operate the same as males. We run on a 28-day cycle and we're different every single day of our cycle. So, we shouldn't be expected to show up the exact same way as males who have a 24-hour cycle."

In terms of starting out for hormonal balance, Dr. Jen recommends women start tracking your cycle. I would add tracking your emotions + mood each day of your cycle is vital too. She also recommends adding in ashwagandha which helps balance our adrenals which also helps with stress. Licorice root is another great one to add in as well for stress.

We also discuss how we can show up best for ourselves and our clients. We also talk about tapping into our intuition and self-development. There is sooo much goodness in this episode and I cannot wait for you to listen in!

To connect with Dr. Jen Hardie, you can find her on Instagram or Facebook at @dr.jenhardie.

  • 021 | Dreaming Big, Bold, Beautiful Dreams with Vision Boarding!

    Do you vision board?

Oh my word…it’s one of my favorite things! And I’m a HUGE advocate for it.

    Why?

Well…for several reasons really. One is because you can take your dreams and find images and words and colors that truly start to make those dreams come to life!

    You can see it.

    You can touch it.

And you can start to envision yourself having it.

Have you ever told yourself, “Someday!!! Some day I will own a house. Someday I will find the love of my life, have a baby, take a road trip across the states in an RV!” ??

Does your mind ever drift off to the adventures and the happiness and the love and fun? Me too! I envision a world that is soon to be mine. A vision board only helps bring our dreams more and more into reality.

    I did it!

I made a dream come true!!! And you can listen in on my story and testimony to vision boarding and chasing your dreams!

    And I'll leave you with this;

My friend Mel said it best, “You just told the Universe that you are WORTHY!”

    Love & Light 🧡

    P.S. I've got a favor to ask?

I would LOVE to get to know you better and hear from you!!

Give me a follow over on the Gram at @thechelseaholdn and take a screenshot of you listening to the episode and tag me in it! ✌🏼
