In a first for both the Curious About Church podcast and Brentwood Presbyterian Church, we were delighted to host the Rev. In this final episode from our first season and concluding our dive into 1st Corinthians, our hosts discuss themes related to war, pacifism. violence and the means of reaching an end.  Kayden’s question this week centred on the story of German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, “From a Christian perspective, is there ever a justification for violence?” Please note that this episode contains themes of death, war and the complications of those tangled trauma’s, and may not be appropriate for all listeners.

Ben, Brian and Kayden discussed what the work of the Lord is, and if it’s even a possibility to not be doing it at any given time.  As an example, Ben brought up the story of Judas and the fallout of his betrayal to Christ, and the various views that exist on that seminal story.  Brian’s response, as always, was one of compassion and full of wisdom gathered from a life spent serving the church.  Please note that this podcast episode discusses themes of death, mental health & self-harm.
