Mummies and legends of ancient curses have gone hand-in-hand since the dawn of the field of Egyptology. In the first half of the 19th century, over a dozen people died after coming into contact with the tomb of the Ancient Egyptian pharaoh, King Tut. Even today, the viability of “King Tut’s Curse” is hotly debated.
