Fasting has health benefits, but those benefits come not from fasting alone but rather from the toggling between fasting and feasting.
So what are the metabolic pathways that are activated and balanced by this titration?
Spoiler alert, they are the same pathways that are activated by every other form of activity that takes place in nature that is known or considered "Healthy or essential".
So congratulations because if you do anything for your health you already are practicing balancing these pathways and already are taking part in consciously balancing them and thus creating a baseline of metabolic health. Understanding the underlying mechanisms better might just be super useful because you might come away with a better grasp on WHY what you do makes you feel better and thus you become better equipped to implement the most effective does without blindly feeling like you just need to push yourself harder in the gym or constantly work hard and do more. More does not mean better, it's all about hitting the right balance. I hope you enjoy the journey!
We can choose to follow our thoughts around in circles......or we can choose to follow our breath around in circles by allowing ourselves (Our Cells) to open up to the sensations associated with breathing. If we follow our breath.....where does it lead? What thoughts do we think when we are following our breath, what sensations arise in our breath when we follow our thoughts?
How can be use our breath to positively effect our mind and vise versa?
Story time of a realization I recently had that resulted in me realizing how endless realizations are.. therefor I am of the mind now that relations not as exciting as I previously thought realizations to be.
Power VS Force is the name of a book that I have not read.....BUT I like the title!
In this 15min Podcast Daniel talks about the power of letting go and how our breathing can show us this on a somatic level of understanding and thus allowing us to "progress" towards softening ourselves even more in order to receive and utilize our energetic potential.
In this Memecast Daniel explains how he likes to think about anxiety.
Question - What is a Memecast?
Answer - A Memecast is a minute or less podcast that typically involves the articulation of something very normal or mundane but in a humorous and or interesting way. The minute or less must include intro and outro music made by the creator of the Memecast otherwise the Memecast is not technically a Memecast.
Enjoy.
A embodied realization signals a shift in consciousness, the opening of a door begins to emerge out of the solid rock wall we had been previously up against, this doorway leads us towards a place of deep, dark, and unwaivering relaxation - to the core of our being, this ability to relax so deeply in the face of our own mortality liberates vast currents of energy.
This is useful because health along with everything else is an energy thing.
On my recent visit home I sat down with my mother to pick her brain about the simplistic nature of things, how we are the ones who over complicate our own lives.....and how her life has unfolded in the ways that it has, being the learning opportunity that she herself needed most.

"Spiritual work - The endeavor of knowing oneself - Self cultivation - Inner work - Personal development - Yoga - trauma healing - therapy - Whatever we are doing and whatever we choose to call it is woven into the very fabric of our existence.
The mind isolates - Attempting to separate each aspect from the other - Creating more misunderstanding by hindering our broader awareness that is beyond the intellectual pursuit and aquisition of "things".
The ability to distinguish between our heart, our intuition, our small still voice within, from the mental chatter, the worry, anxiety, and limitations that exists at the level of the mind. This is the one true aim - This process involves all other aspects of life, of practices, of modalities, of philosophies, therapies, and trauma healing....etc
In this episode I talk about how simple this seemingly overwhelming process is.
