CVS Podcast

I was pleasantly surprised when Stephen Heiner agreed to come back and record part 2. I am more "novus ordo" than ever, having read the documents of Vatican II, but he still doesn't understand my perspective. I enjoyed our lively chat nonetheless, and hope to have him back again next year.

In this Meta episode I discuss the history of the 21 ecumenical councils, and the heresies and schisms that accompany these most sacred councils.

This Meta episode takes you behind the curtain of my mind, into the realm of ideas that fuel my quest for truth and understanding. I discuss three faculties of the human soul: Doubt, Faith, and Reason, and the imbalanced worldviews that result if we neglect one or more of these.

Seth reached out to me on Facebook because he heard my call-in to the Atheist Experience. Seth is my first explicitly faithful Catholic guest. He's only 23 years old and was home-schooled in an orthodox Catholic family in Ohio. I enjoyed our pleasant but brief chat.

I met Mythica on Facebook. She describes herself as a Christian Witch, or a Pagan. She prefers to think of herself as having added to her Catholic upbringing, rather than having abandoned it. Mythica appeared on Season One of Skin Wars, which is now on Netflix.

This is my first CVS Meta episode, in which I talk about the podcast on an administrative or observational level. In this episode I wanted to read my disclaimer and a small blurb about the Church. I also share my recent decision to allow non-dissident Catholics onto my Catholic vs. Catholic segment. There is also a brief discussion of the Perpetual Masses that I buy for all my guests, and about which I am very excited.

I met Shane on YouTube. He identifies as a combination of Gnostic and Baptist. Among other things, Shane believes that Satan is not pure spirit, but has a human form with both male and female sexual organs. He was friendly, and we got along well in spite of our theological differences.

I met John on Facebook. He is a family man who teaches Philosophy at John Abbott College. He is a colorful character with a very open mind, but he chooses to identify as Christian. I enjoyed listening to him talk, and hope to have him back. Lots of fun.

Dr. Fleming is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Western Sydney University, Australia. He describes himself as "Catholic among the secular, and secular among Catholics". I spent most of our time picking his brain about philosophy. Good times.

This Triple Post-Mortem dissects, in purposefully vague and general terms, the vetoed interviews of three baptized men who shall remain unnamed to protect their identities. All three men were very antagonistic and objected to my use of the word "versus".
