CWC is in a season of worship of God

Worshiping God keeps our prayers from complaining

The church has a problem taking disobedience and making it "spiritual"

Church should become an oasis of sanity

Matt: Two afflictions

They needed something at the temple, because they couldn't go into the temple

Breakthrough begins when we stop being impressed with how big your problems are compared to Christ

Just as the Mercy Seat, in the holy of holies. But the body of Jesus wasn't there. Wrap your mind around that one

3. Was it God’s will that Israel have a king? The answer might surprise you (Gen17:6) Most of us have missed this veiled truth and the answer has been there since God spoke to Abraham. Understand covenant and realize why

 -When Jesus rode into east gate of Jerusalem on the two donkeys he was announcing to the whole world who He was. This was the first time. Many flocked to to this event and laid down their coats and Palm frans. Before this Jesus operated on the "sly" often warning his disciples and people who received miracles from Him to be careful and not tell anyone

So why do we call this “Palm Sunday”?

-Instead of “Coat Sunday” 

Matt21:7 and a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road

What is the significance of the coat and the branches?

Palms:

Palm was a symbol of honor

Hosanna to the Son of David! Meaning, “Save us now please!”

‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’

Zach 9:9 (500 yrs earlier the ride on the donkey was prophesied by Zachariah)

-Say to Daughter Zion,

‘See, your king comes to you,

gentle and riding on a donkey,

and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”

The Coat:

-The coat became the symbolism of that persons life

So why weren't their more coats laid down than palm branches? hmm

In covenant relationship, the coat exchange becomes symbolic for life for life

-I will make a new covenant between the house of Israel and the house of Judah

2Cor3:1-18 Mirror of God's glory to others

Strongs We move from honor to honor God and our willingness to reflect to others

We move from praise to praise

Worship to worship reflecting God's grace and presence to others

When we come before God we owe him a response of faith

Do you sometimes strain as a believer to hear the voice of the Lord?

How do you know the voice of the Lord is speaking to you?

Veil is not a curtain

When you open your hearing the veil is taken away

Religious habits will keep the veil over your heart

3:17 Now the Lord is Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty

When we act on his intention(s) the veil is removed off that area

-The highest intention given to listening

-Those two words appear contradictory, but are not -if you understand covenant

The Bible says Abraham had the faith to raise Isaac back up from the dead

Where Abraham offered his son, then God was willing to offer His

Fair to say God was waiting for a man to believe and obey him, and take action first. Then He was  willing

2Kings 7:1-20

4 Lepers

Syrians were the enemy

The family was going to starve to death

Samaria was resorting to cannibalism

3 ways to die, and 1 hope to live...Surrender to the Syrians

They had decided to surrender themselves to the enemy hoping they might live

-there was no faith here

But God decided to have mercy

-the Syrians thought the Hittites and the Egyptians were hired to fight against them

-This happened from word of one man who prophesied to the King

7:1-2 Elisha prophesies

The Promises of God is yes and amen

-Yes means I heard, and will carry out the plan

If God gives you the promise are you willing to carry out the plan

When you say amen, you say you’re willing to carry it out

Why would God give a bunch of words, phrases for doing nothing?

Our relationship with God. 

So how did the 5 virgins see to it they were able to have enough oil? Their love for Christ they were willing to pay the price to have enough or extra oil.

Under an open heaven all things are possible

From Jesus baptism Jesus operated under an open heaven

We operate under open heaven when 

Malachi 3:10

Bring your offering and tithe into the storehouse so there may be meat 🥩 🍖 in my house

-You have the double portion because of Christ and an open heaven

If God is your servant you will be constantly frustrated

If you are God’s servant you will be constantly amazed

Jesus started by standing up at the feast of Tabernacles

A drink from the Rock (Jesus) turns into a river

Gal3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law

They (The Galatians) picked up religion

Redeemed - comes with our improved opportunity to excel

Redemption is stopping the cycle of sin

The words of our mouth send seed

We planted all the bad seed, everything I have will be given to you

Frustrate means to cast off, come against, rejecting it, and despising it

-Grace is God's empowerment for you to become and do what He created you for

Redemption

Revive me of your loving kindness

Testimony meaning is to do it again and again

Your testimony should encourage others to do overcome like you did

God wants to do it again!

The pandemic has given a unique opportunity to present the savior like no other

You see an epidemic I see an opportunity

If you only embrace your problem you will continue to have problems

Breakthroughs coming

The Church is coming in to a new season

The plows to spears or swords to plowshares paradox?

1. 2Sam5:20 David is praying to God for a plan

When did God reveal the plan to David

The philistines you shall confront them and you shall prevail

God usually does not operate that way. We need to go back to Him for the plan

Baal Perisim is the place David had a new plan from God to defeat and become victorious over the Philestines

2. Heb5:12 Meat vs Milk and Planning?

Where’s the time?

-You should be teachers, instead you have need of milk instead of strong meat

V13 those who need milk are unskilled in the word

Those who can digest meat are more mature  

So what is the:

Milk -Comforts and soothes

Meat -Provokes change

He’s changing our method of breakthrough

Strategy in different situations...how will you do it?

Teachers don’t just transfer knowledge

Impart methods and power

Strong meat requires monumental change

3. Joel 3:10 Last times paradox

The Church is coming in to a new season

The plows to spears - swords to plows paradox? The Bible says both

What season and time are we in?

Is2:4 Beat your swords into plowshares

Micah 4:3 Beat your swords into plowshares

4. Prov18:9 those who are slack in their work is brother to the one who destroys

-We have more resources, than we have people to carry out 

-We should be demonstrating what hope looks like

Doubting Thomas...they were (disciples) afraid that the government was going to come after them. In the midst of that Jesus appears. Peace be with you...and He Breathed on them and said, “Receive ye the Holy Spirit”

-Thomas reach your finger in here my hand and my side

-I will not believe unless I see

Life and death are in the power of the tongue

-some people have mis-used this to their own advantages

Acts4:29 Lord look on their threats, and grant to us the boldness to stand up against them

1.Because God is better than I think I must change my thinking

I must readjust my thinking to his ways

Doesn’t bother God that we’re unsettled as long as we’re relying on Him

Make them joyful for your house is a house of prayer

My House will be a house of “intervention”

Where someone stands in front of or the middle of

When you intervene someone who steps in the middle

The intervention happens in our hearts and minds

We the church are the house of intervention

Intercessory prayer

Prayer means “intervention”

You stand in the way of something happening

3. Burn Offerings are voluntary offering that surrenders everything and complete devotion

You will not have mercy AND grace with religion

God’s call for us is to function in grace

Jesus never debated with religious leaders...he usually used questions they had to answer

The church has to get the burnt offerings to God down

a. Burn them

b. And go on with God

c. If we become all huffy and puffy our sacrifice becomes tainted and blemished

d. God's law required perfect unblemished sacrifices to receive his blessing

Jesus said he's coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle

2Cor10

Casting down vain imaginations

Casting down arguments, imaginations, moving on our own reasonings

Strongholds begin and are made on one thought

Satan will watch your patterns, then try and make his move

Strongholds are protection for an army

Patterns of behavior is what Satan is observing

People who debate the Pastor, build strongholds in their mind

Jesus temptation: Three areas satan always attack people (similar to Jesus)

1. Gods Provision

Attacks our Identity

If you’re a Christian you’d be this or that 

You would have this or that

2. Attack against provision which is also protection of God

-Once we get our identity established and fixed the whole characterization of the battlefield changes (for you)

3. God’s Service

Our service describes our purpose for being on the planet in the first place

Your identity then must be established

Then fixed (cemented)

You won’t be easily moved if you get this far

When it comes to service to the Lord is where most get lost

The few who find it (their service to the Lord) will find their identity

Mark 8: The Leaven of the Pharisees and Herod

He charged them saying, “beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and leaven of Herod”

Thayer's Greek dictionary:

-Mental and moral corruption viewed in its tendency to infect and affect others

In religion, God is impersonal and powerless

1. Leaven of the Pharisees

a. Puffing up of knowledge

b. Tendencies toward the worship of knowledge

c. Have the need to be right or correct in winning arguments

d. Calling it spiritual without the presence of God

e. Correctness on the Word without the Presence of God

2. Leaven of Herod

a. Political Systems

b. Getting caught up in politics

Jesus the bread Mk8:16

-They (disciples) reasoned among themselves (even after the feeding of the 4 and 5000)

-The disciples still reasoned how are we going to do this?

-Jesus interestingly ends the dialog with a question. “Do you still not understand?”
