  • Episode 92: "New Name, Same Game" (w/ Fat Flee)

Since the inception of Hip-Hop in Boston, there has always been a naturally close relationship with NYC, given it's the birthplace of Rap music and its the next major city a few hours away. Over the years certain relationships from NY grew closer, specifically from the Dipset camp and in this case it's an olive branch from Jim Jones's Vamp Life/Byrdgang crew who signed Boston's own Fat Flee!

While undergoing a name change within recent years, one may think Fat Flee's musical resume isn't that long but if you look up his former name "Nucklez" you'll soon learn he is no new-comer to this game. With a tenure in music of over 10 years and working closely with other hometown staples like Lou Armstrong, Nyce Franklyn, and Star-Gang's former leading name Moufy, it's safe to say that the Boston born/NYC raised artist is here to stay and not playing around. Within just the past year he's dropped an array of singles and even featured on Millyz's hit "Drive Thru". This week we were fortunate enough to have a sit down with the "Credibility" artist and talk about his music career, his name change, his relationship with Jim Jones, and he even mentioned some old issues he had with a former artist. WE ALSO HAD A VERY MEMORABLE #RedCupsAndRap freestlye from Fat Flee to wrap the whole conversation up. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!

  • Episode 91: "Live Famous" (w/ C. Wells)

Just 10 miles north of Boston is the city of Lynn, MA, which was originally known for its industrial economy up into the early to mid 20th century. Times changed and so did the reputation of the largest city in Essex county, earning it the title of "The City of Sin" largely due to the influx of crime  during the '60s into the '80s. Flash forward to now, Lynn is the home of over 90,000 residents and also the home of some very promising talent. Amongst the names we hear of often, has to be C. Wells, a rapper from the "West Side" of the city, known for his lyricism and catchy hooks–and this week, we had the chance to give him his flowers and have him represent his city!

    C. Wells is not a new-comer to the MA Hip-Hop scene as he's been one of the most consistent rappers out of Lynn within this past decade. He's been able to release a slew of mixtapes and singles and more recently, some EP's that's gotten him features from the likes of G Herbo and Dave East. Even more recently he was spotted with a cameo in the Millyz "Cantaloupe" music video. Needless to say, the "Live Famous" creator has made a name for himself and continues to build on that. C. Wells stops by the pod to sit down with Charlie MaSheen & Shanelle Shanté about his rap career, his brief online exchange with Boston legend and Source Magazine pioneer Benzino, about his recent gap in work, what's next and SO MUCH MORE! You definitely want to tap in with us this week and also the heartfelt #RedCupsAndRap freestyle C. Wells left us with!

  • Episode 90: "Sounds Expensive" (w/ Dutchy DoBad)

Just short of a decade ago the Boston/MA music scene was lucky enough to get blessed with a few new sounds that grabbed the attention of the streets. Amongst those talents, one name who stood out with his distinct voice and melodic cadence is the Hyde Park bred, Fields Corner/Strip Life repping Dutchy DoBad! We have definitely been meaning to have a sit down with the "Fake Love" artist for some time now and we finally got a chance to have him share some of his story. Since hearing him for the first time on his 2013 anthem "Round The Way", there was no denying that Dutchy is special and deserves to be kept on repeat!

With the respect he's earned as an artist and the support he's gotten from his fans and the streets, Dutchy DoBad also had a few legal set backs that held him back from reaching his full potential musically. However, even with him on a vacation for a little while his name was kept in rotation by his brothers and fellow rappers Cash Gotti and Prince Smooth (who we've interviewed on episode 53) on records and a simple Free Dutchy DoBad campaign. Now that the worst is behind him, Dutchy is back, better than ever, and ready to deliver some of his best work yet. With his recent EP "Free Yola" he gave his listeners 7 solid records which all sounded like hits. He figured out a way to make you listen and still want to dance, while wrapping it up with some personal accords on "Benny Blanco" which he describes as an autobiography. Needless to say, we were very excited for this sit down and just as excited for what's next for Dutchy DoBad! Join Charlie MaSheen & KASH as they host Dutchy DoBad and talk about his music, how rap beef isn't "real", the meaning of his name and SO MUCH MORE. We also did things a little different this time and STARTED the episode with a very sharp, precise, and hard hitting #RedCupsAndRap freestyle! DON't MISS OUT ON THIS ONE!!!

  • Episode 89: "Love The Ugly" (w/ Manloz Juice)

There are many creatives in The Hub and to say that we can touch all of them being a once weekly platform may be a stretch. However, there are talents that are hard to be ignored and we always want to give credit where it's due. This week we welcome the South End native, who wears many hats as a former rapper, actor, comedian, healer, farmer and more, Manloz Juice! The young King pulls up to share his story and tell us why we should all "Love The Ugly."

If you've watched the action comedy "Spenser Confidential", you may recognize Manloz Juice acting as one of the gangsters from the infamous Dominican "Trinitario" gang. As that film was released last year during the pandemic, anyone from the city who is a part of Manloz Juice's social media following went crazy to see him in a major film starring Mark Wahlberg & Winston Duke. This sparked some curiosity in our team and we started to look into his work which led to this sit down. Join Charlie MaSheen & KASH as they talk to Manloz Juice about his role in Spenser Confidential, his brand "Love The Ugly", his experience in farming, why he decided to remain abstinent, and SO MUCH MORE!

STAY TUNE FOR WHAT THIS YOU ENTREPRENEUR HAS IN STORE, WE'RE SURE HE'LL SURPRISE US ALL!!

  • Episode 88: "King's Crescendo" (w/ Dre Robinson)

Hailing from one of the most notorious areas of Dorchester is the well known, lyrically sharp, witty spitting MC who comes from Jamaican descent known by none other than Dre Robinson! With a tenure in rap and a catalog as extensive as his, it's fair to say that Dre is one of the most experienced guests we've ever had a sit down with. Having started his rap career over 20 years ago, the "Golden in My State" artist has made a lot of connections within the industry and has even made records with big name artists. Tenure in rap also means to adapt and stay relevant in a very quickly changing genre. Dre Rob has always been successful at re-inventing himself and staying ahead of the curve when it comes to bars and a very polished sound.

As Dre is gearing up to release his upcoming album "King's Crescendo" we felt the timing was perfect to finally have this hometown hero come give us some game. This also comes shortly after Dre Robinson gave us some of the most intense bars of our #RedCupsAndRapCypher!!! Once again he left the pod while the mic was still smoking with some more heat for this week's #RedCupsAndRap Freestyle! Join us as we have a very raw and transparent conversation with Dre Robinson about his rap career, being a father to a young black man, what he's learned on his musical journey, AND SO MUCH MORE!!!

  • Episode 87: "All Gas No Brakes" (w/ Stizzy Leftlane)

In every Hip-Hop market there are always names who remain as the core to the people. These are the people who speak for the people and with the people, and stay true to the essence from which they represent. This week we have a Hip-Hop artist from the Roxbury part of Boston who embodies just that notion: none other than Stizzy Leftlane!!! This is somebody who we've been trying to snag a sit down with for over a year and we finally had the opportunity to put it into fruition!

Stizzy Leftlane has been a a steady name within the Boston music scene for over the past 10 years and shows no signs of slowing down. With a voice which most hip-hoppers in the area are familiar with and raw imagery and lyrics, this Roxbury native has become one of the main names when it comes to Boston rap. Dropping an assortment of projects over the years and even teaming up with neighborhood heroes to create a collective, you can never say Stizzy isn't working! What does happen with certain artists in growing Rap markets is that they may be over-looked by others and kind of fall as a strong secondary; which is one of the topics we discussed on this week's episode! Please join Charlie MaSheen & KASH as they welcome Stizzy Leftlane to the pod over a discussion of the rapper's music, why he may be over-looked by some, "faking it til you make it", what's next for him, AND SO MUCH MORE!!! We also wrap up with another classic #RedCupsAndRap freestyle!!!

  • Episode 86: "First Time For Everything" (w/ Dungeon Jane)

Even with the majority of our guests being Rap/Hip-Hop artists, every so often we will slow things down a little bit to showcase Boston/MA's R&B scene. One name who's caught our attention recently is the R&B/House artist Dungeon Jane. Since dropping her latest body of work "Spectrum" she has actually introduced a sound that's been dabbled with to her core fans here in Boston. The 8 track long album includes records dating back to as long as 2 years ago and we're happy about the compiled tracklist of vibes! She showed her range of music she can create and kept the listeners wanting to hear more! For someone with a name like Dungeon Jane we think she shines very bright!

Join us this week as we welcome Dungeon Jane to the pod, hosted by Charlie MaSheen & Shanelle Shante. Although the singer has been working for years, this happens to be her first-ever interview but definitely not the last. And since Shanelle's debut on the show 2 weeks ago, this is actually her first interview as well – making this the first of many and a great conversation. We spoke about "Spectrum" and the creative process, Jane's influences, her range of work and SO MUCH MORE! Be sure to tap in to this one!!!

  • Episode 85: "Family Business" (w/ Charlie MaSheen, Shanelle Shante, Bellez, & KASH)

With CWTFB Radio being an idea for under 2 years, there has been many changes to the feel and the sound of the show. Something that Charlie MaSheen has said time and time again is "anything you do consistently will naturally evolve" and that statement has held true for us as well. Since the inception of this podcast we went from a 1 man show to a platform in which artists in the region look to touch base with all while giving you 4 different personalities who share the same love for music. Nothing about our formula shows an intention for stopping but we all know nothing lasts FOREVER! While we are not looking to say goodbye to the podcast scene, we did want to send off our first co-host, Bellez, with a BANG!

Bellez joined Charlie MaSheen on this podcast on episode 37 and has genuinely captured the hearts of our supporters over the past year. With a heavy heart we have to say "see you later" as we always welcome her back to the show whenever the opportunity presents itself. In the midst of everything we also welcomed Shanelle Shante who seemingly will naturally integrate into our culture and continue what we build. On this episode we have all 4 of our loved hosts have a sit down to carefully give Bellez her flowers and wish her the best with her career outside of the pod but we also have to TALK SOME SH*T!!! Join us as we talk about a multitude of things such as adult hygiene, Nicki Minaj's husband being an alleged rapist, if semen is good for your skin, the Boston/MA music scene & SO MUCH MORE (No seriously, this went on for way longer than we expected)!!!! WE LOVE YOU BELLEZ! GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING! YOU ALWAYS HAVE A HOME HERE AT CWTFB Radio!!!! ❤️

  • Episode 84: "The Breakfast Sub" (w/ Charlie MaSheen, Shanelle Shante, & KASH)

There are some new and exciting changes being made on the show, which tend to naturally happen with anything done on a high level and with purpose. One of the changes are the newest face of the podcast, the beautiful and multi-talented Shanelle Shante! She's very excited to be here just as we are to have her and we can't wait for our supporters to fall in love with what she brings to the team, as all of our hosts are very different and excellent within their own rights. A mother of two, entrepreneur and devoted woman who's been in a long-term relationship, she's giving us another perspective of how she navigates through her life.

What we know is inevitable are the comparisons to our first permanent co-host ever, the melanin-poppin, Bellez (Big Bellez from a Big Block 🤣) who's stole the hearts of many of our core supporters since her first appearance on episode 39. In what seems to be transitioned in an Aunt Viv from Fresh Prince fashion is, on the contrary, a decision that was made by Bellez to move out of Boston and pursue her acting career full time. We've know for some time this would happen but the way we wanted to do things for Bellez's departure changed last minute due to unforeseeable circumstances. We love what Bellez brings to the show and she will always be a part of our team, on and off the screen! We wish her the best with the utmost love and respect, and can't wait to see her name on the big screen!

As the show must go on, we definitely wanted to keep a Black woman's perspective alive in our culture so we welcome Shanelle Shante with open arms and had a great conversation to introduce her as a new permanent fixture. Join us as we dive in on a number of things including recent sports talks with Isaiah Thomas, Dennis Schroder, other things like the value of time, new industry music coming out, cancel culture, and SO MUCH MORE! We also had Godda Bouche aka AR Godda 15 pull up to deliver some 🔥🔥🔥 with a heartfelt and hard-hitting #RedCupsAndRap freestyle–exclusively on our Youtube channel!!!

  • Episode 83: "Meet Me in the Port" (w/ Gnipsey)

When it comes to Rap artists from Cambridge, they are getting tired of the cliche stigmas and assumptions that come with the city right outside of Boston. In the same city that is the home of the prestigious colleges like Harvard and MIT, there is another side of Cambridge that doesn't get spoken of – almost by design. There are many young artists coming out of CMB and one of the standouts have to be "The Port"'s own Gnipsey! We first heard his name on this platform from CMB's leading man Millyz but now we finally got a chance to sit down with this young and very promising artist.

Join us as Charlie MaSheen & KASH welcome Gnipsey to the pod for the first time. We talk about his music which he started just about 3 years ago, misconceptions about Cambridge, bringing Lil Reese out to his hood, and SO MUCH MORE! We also wrap up the episode with some PAIN on this week's #RedCupsAndRap freestyle!
