George, Marcus and Brent sit down and talk to ISU alum and legend Brandon Hawkins. George talks about Anthony Johnson’s story and what he spoke about in regards to Jack Trice’s legacy. Brandon chimes in with his thoughts on how to bounce back from losses and brags about the fact he never lost to Kansas. Marcus talks about after games, that teams lock in on reviewing breakdown charts, ensuring they are hitting fundamentals and how those little things separate a team from good to great. Marcus talks about how Coach Euschtacy would hammer the team after he thought he had a good game and the breakdown charts showed what he needed to work hard, and Marcus knew practice would be rough! Brandon is convinced they were the first to have that “first” analytic type breakdowns. The insight into their analytics and how that grading of a bad pass or not seeing an open guy on the break, can make them focus even harder during the game. Brandon asks Brent, in regards to Football, how do players hold each other accountable, with basketball its a smaller group, and how does that work in football.
