Welcome to week 2 of our Halloween Dad Movies extravaganza. This week we tackle Final Destination 1 and 2, a double feature of hilarious gore and thrills. We laugh at death, talk about the wholesome roots of why we love the series, and learn whether Mom was grossed out or not. Enjoy.

We're back with episode one of our Halloween extravaganzas and first up is The Monster Squad. Fred Dekker's teen horror classic is essentially Goonies but with the Universal Monsters thrown in. But underneath its funny, sharp dialog and surprisingly scary violence is a story about the ways kids avoid the real horrors of life and a set of Wolfman nards. 10 out of 10 highly recommended.

This week on Dad Movies we explore the phenomenon of movies we love that age oddly with Norm Macdonald's Dirty Work. Both the guys remember this film fondly from the 90s, but boy howdy was it made in a different world. We talk about what it gets right, the importance of acknowledging the warts on art we love, and laugh a lot about pranks. 

It's Cliffhanger week on the podcast, and we stretch the boundaries of our PG-13 rating. On face value this is just a silly heist movie set on a mountain. But taking a deeper look reveals a gloriously dumb gem. Dad's positive there's a polyamorous murder plot hidden within and we both marvel at the Mortal Kombat like violence. 

It's Any Given Sunday week on the podcast. Although John-Michael and Bill share different interests in sports, this is a mutual favorite film. We talk about Oliver Stone's unconventional narrative, what drives performers and athletes alike, and get into it about whether athletes are artists.
