In this episode, I sat down with a friend of mine Ari Rosado, who is a gaslighting and abuse survivor with 2 kids of her own. Ari walked us through her journey of what she thought to be the perfect marriage to the tale of her survival. Her story is like so many other women and men where unhealed trauma of one partner’s past found its way through emotional abuse, gaslighting, infidelity, addictions and absent parenting.
Ari is now focusing to embrace the silver lining of her pain and help other women with kids to teach the signs of abuse and path to recovery.
Juan De Dios Garcia and his wife are proud owners of 2 dance studios in San Jose, CA now. But his journey of becoming a ball room dancer wasn’t easy when he shared his dream and vision with his family and friends. Riddled by the social stigma of MAN UP, it took him years of discipline, hard work and perseverance to see his dream coming true. As in the world of MEN when it comes to career or profession, your success is judged by money. Juan had to break the barrier and the mindset of his family by being a financially successful entrepreneur.
Juan’s stories are like many out there where being a MAN and pursuing a dream that is not popular career for men, can either make you another victim of popular opinion or can make you a catalyst for change and break the stigma to be the role model for a new generation of boys and men.

If physically possible, Laurie would live, eat, and breathe fashion. She was fortunate to land her first job after college in the New York City fashion world, working in merchandising at Cygne Design, a private label fashion design company. Her homework on weekends was to “shop the stores” and report back on the latest fashion trends. Laurie aced every assignment.
